Venus Williams Wins Fifth Wimbledon Crown

Venus Williams (28) and Serena Williams (26) had to battle each other for the Wimbledon crown. Venus came out on top to win the her fifth Wimbledon Crown on Saturday in two sets 7-5, and 6-4. Before the match started Serena said of her sister:

"She’s a tough opponent. I think she’ll be the toughest person I’ve played. I’m excited."

Venus added:

"It’s every Williams for themself."

Saturday’s championship battle marked the seventh time the sisters had opposed one another in a Grand Slam final, with Serena winning the last five of those matches.

Venus needs one more Wimbledon singles title to match Billie Jean King’s record of six, behind only Steffi Graf (seven) and Martina Navratilova (nine).
