After Nadya Suleman demonstrated for hospital staff she could feed each octuplet in under 30 minutes each, and installed CO2 monitors in her new home, the neonatal nurses at Kaiser Permanante Medical Center released two of the octuplets into Nadya’s care. The hospital released the following statement:

"After several home visits Kaiser Permanente determined that Ms. Suleman has safe housing, sufficient child care support, and the supplies and equipment needed to care for the first two octuplets. The remaining six babies continue to progress well, and remain at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center. All continue gaining weight and remain on either formula or donated pasteurized breast milk."

The two healthiest and heaviest infant sons Noah, weighing 5 lbs., 13 oz, and Isaiah, weighing 5 lbs., were allowed to leave the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit with Nadya.

Dr. Mandhir Gupta said:

"This is a happy moment for everyone, the family, physicians, nurses and entire NICU staff. It is always rewarding whenever a premature infant goes home as a healthy baby."

Officials at Kaiser Permanente say they will release two more infants in a week.

We’ll see how this goes. By the time all 8 babies are at home with Nadya, we expect to see more reports of her calling 911, or losing some of her kids. It’s just hard for Nadya not to do crazy things with such a small amount of sleep. Her mother says she currently only gets 2 hours of sleep a night. Only a crazy person would choose a life like that in my opinion.
