Tom Cruise Buys Katie Holmes a Jet, Which is Faster Than a Bus

Note that the new jet is just a back-up option for times when Tom Cruise can’t "drive" Katie Holmes to work.

UK’s Marie Claire reports the details of Cruise’s purchase of the new plane. 

Until the recent purchase, he has insisted on personally flying Holmes to work, a 1,500-mile trip to Louisiana where she has been filming a comedy called, ironically, Mad Money.

Now a second jet is alongside Cruise’s more luxury Gulfstream IV at a small Los Angeles airport.

Actress Holmes, 28, has told friends that she uses the jet only when Cruise, 44, is away or has lent his Gulfstream to friends such as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. ‘It’s like a bus, only quicker,’ she said.

Certainly, it’s understandable that Cruise would want to guard his precious wife’s safety and deliver her and the baby to the movie set himself.

We’re just wondering what kind of "protection" will be provided for Holmes and Suri Cruise when they’re traveling on Cruise Jet #2 without him.
