Time Warner and Viacom to Shut Off 16 Channels

  Share

Viacom is asking Time Warner to pay something like 25 cents more per subscriber to continue broadcasting Viacom content. Time Warner says times are tough, so instead of paying increased fees the cable giant will stop broadcasting the following channels, Comedy Central, CMT – Pure Country, Logo; Palladia, MTV, MTV 2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, Vh1, Vh1 Classic, Vh1 Soul.

Viacom produced the video above to try to get customers to put pressure on Time Warner to pay the higher fees, rather than Viacom negotiating a lower fee increase. Customers in Raleigh, Orange County, Los Angeles, and New York City will be affected.
