John Mayer and Mandy Moore Make Sweet Music Together?

TMZ is speculating that John Mayer and Mandy Moore may be the latest musicians (cough) to couple up.

The "Chocolate Rain" singer was spotted out in SoHo yesterday having lunch with Mandy Moore, who was in town for the premiere of her new movie, "Dedication."

The frumpy pair (is that a potato sack she has on?) would make sense as a couple — she likes funny guys with good musical taste (Zach Braff) and he likes women.

However, Us Magazine has reported that Mandy Moore says that they have been "friends for years."

Just in case, it’s always handy to come up with one of those annoying couple monikers.Â Johndy?Â Maymoore?Â Or perhaps just "Milk Toast."

Zach Braff Gets Big Pay Raise on Scrubs

Zach Braff is about to land a big payday, as long as his hospital comedy "Scrubs" gets renewed by NBC for a seventh season.

The actor has cut a one-year deal with "Scrubs" producer ABC TV Studio that will pay him about $350,000 per episode for the 2007-08 season of "Scrubs," sources said. Each season consists of about two dozen episodes.

Braff’s deal is contingent on NBC picking up the show for a seventh year, which is expected, notwithstanding its lowly season-to-date viewership of 6.9 million people, according to Nielsen Media Research. If so, Braff’s new deal would place him among the highest-paid male actors on television, alongside "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen, whose paycheck also is in the $350,000-per-episode range.

Representatives for Braff and the production company declined comment.

Braff is the anchor of the ensemble on "Scrubs," playing the amiable young doctor John "J.D." Dorian. Braff’s star has been on the rise during the past few years thanks to "Scrubs" and the strong response to his auteur turn as writer, director and star of the 2004 indie romantic comedy "Garden State." His upcoming projects include a starring role in the comedy "The Ex," and he is slated to star and direct the drama "Open Hearts" for Paramount Pictures.

Drew Barrymore insists she loves her single life, but just weeks after her split with Fabrizio Moretti, she already has tongues wagging. Barrymore, who hosted "SNL" last weekend, and Zach Braff "were very into each other" during the after-party at Sapa, sources said. They said Barrymore spent the night in the corner with Braff and "they were really focused on each other." Another spy said the stars’ friends are blabbing that they’re "definitely dating." A-listers who toasted the host included Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon, and Ed Norton. A rep for Barrymore says, "There is no romance between Drew and Zach. They are simply friends."

Mandy Moore and DJ AM Caught Kissing in Public

Mandy Moore (22) and DJ AM (33) (Adam Goldstein) snapped kissing in public at the Sundance Film Festival. A source says "the pair is "definitely" a couple. The source adds that the couple are "happy" and "the cutest the thing you’ve ever seen."

The couple partied together Saturday night at Park City, Utah’s Sundance Film Festival, where Moore’s film Dedication is showing.

"Mandy was performing songs from her new album, and the last song was ’Gardenia,’" a source said. "DJ was standing in the corner drinking P.i.n.k. Vodka and smiling. He was singing along. He clearly had heard the song before, and the album isn’t even out yet!"

Furthermore, Moore and AM were spotted hanging out together during the festival at the Prime Steakhouse on Main Street. The couple, along with six other friends, sat next to each other and dined for at least two hours, drinking wine, and smiling at each other.

Moore has been claiming she has been depressed for a while. I don’t buy it. Just the other day Moore’s ex Zach Braff claimed he has mild depression. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence. Moore looks pretty happy all the time, and even more so with DJ AM. Looks like DJ AM can keep those DJ fees high now that he’s bagged another celebrity girlfriend.

This weekend’s must-see date movie starring Zach Braff and Rachel Bilson. Surprisingly, mixing a little Scrubs with a little O.C. turns out to be a good thing! Here’s our review: What is it about turning the big 3-0 thatâ€™s so darn scary? For Michael (Zach Braff)>, itâ€™s all about the c word: commitment. His live-in girlfriend, Jenna (Jacinda Barrett), has just announced sheâ€™s pregnant, and suddenly Michaelâ€™s feeling trapped and a little terrified. What else can a guy do but let himself be tempted by a doe-eyed college hottie (The O.C.â€™s Rachel Bilson) who really, really wants him?

KEEPING IT REAL: What happens next isnâ€™t exactly startling, but the emotional aftermath feels real and true, which is a nice surprise. Braff and Barrett are compelling as a couple in major relationship transition, but the movie is nearly stolen by old pros Blythe Danner and Tom Wilkinson as Jennaâ€™s parents, who are searching for signs of life in their 30-year marriage. They provide the sadder-but-wiser proof that living happily ever after is indeed a lifelong job.

THE VERDICT: A serio-comic gem that gets better the more you think about it.

Even though Zach Braff was riding a pocket bike from his trailer to the set of Scrubs, he needs to realize that a pocket bike, and his clown-like clothing choices will make us laugh, confirm he’s a clown, but it won’t help his love life. A lot of girls say they like a guy who makes them laugh, but how many girls want to get down-and-dirty with a clown?

The NBC sitcom “Scrubs” will air a musical episode next year, according to Playbill.com. The Tony Award-winning composers of “Avenue Q” will write the songs. Debra Fordham, a supervising producer for “Scrubs” told Playbill, “The general plot is that a woman comes into Sacred Heart, our hospital, complaining that she constantly hears music, yet all her tests come back normal. Is she just crazy? Or is something else going on?”

“Avenue Q” won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2004. Fordham went on to say that Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx will write “the big opening number, the act break and the finale. The fourth one is a song about a stool sample!” The episode will shoot later this year and air some time in 2007.

Zach Braff Still not over Mandy Moore?

Note to Zach: Find another girlfriend, your heart will heal, and memories of Mandy will fade.

The rumor mill is churning, and the rumor is that Mandy Moore and Zach Braff have split. As Tom Leykis would say, “Do you care?” Rumor is the split took place Saturday, and Mandy Moore called an end to the relationship. Mandy also kicked her parents out of her house recently, and made them homeless, so why be surprised she did the dumping. I’m still waiting to know how many people asked for refunds, and actually got them, from Mandy’s first album.

I still like both Mandy Moore and Zach Braff because they both like Starbucks lattes like all the A-List stars, and regular people like you and me.
