Tony Parker, set to wed Eva Longoria this summer, hasn’t won over all her friends.

The New York Post reports:

Meanwhile, some of Longoria’s pals are worried about Parker. "He is just not gracious," one of them said. "He puts himself ahead of her. He always orders at restaurants before her and is rude to waiters. We just don’t have a good feeling about him."

First of all, this sounds like the sniping of the bitchy, dateless, often-chubby wing-chick-type with which we’re all familiar.

Come on! Are these friends/frenemies married or even in a relationship? They’re describing 90 percent of boyfriends.

Plus, he’s a professional athlete, another group that often gets high marks in the self-centered and rude department.

We’d bet that Eva’s got a handle on it.

Just you wait, meddling, loose-lipped Eva buddies. No need to "worry." Post-wedding Tony will be heard saying, "Whatever you want, dear."

"You’re absolutely right, honey."

And our favorite, "No, of course I don’t mind holding your purse while you shop."

Be afraid, Tony. Be very afraid.

Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez are attending the ALMA nomination banquet together, and oh yeah Eva is engaged to be married to Tony Parker. Longoria and Lopez are former lovers. On the red carpet at E!’s Golden Globes pre-show, Eva Longoria refused to divulge details about her upcoming nuptials to Tony Parker, except for the fact that they would take place in France.

The Desperate Housewives star and San Antonio Spurs guard, who got engaged in November after a rocky two-year romance, will wed on July 7, 2007, at Château de Chantilly, a fairy-tale-like castle north of Paris.

According to a source, "Tony is extremely superstitious and thinks that 07-07-07 is the day most lucky to get married on."

Longoria, 31, will be traveling to France in February with event planner Mindy Weiss to finalize details for the reception, including ordering the flowers, food and cake. And, since Parker, 24, has family in France, the groom-to-be’s mother, Pamela, will be nearby to lend a helping hand.

"Tony wants her to feel that it’s her day as well as his and Eva’s," says a source.

And, to top if off, designer Monique Lhuillier will create Longoria’s dress for the big day, a source says.

Longoria’s rep says, "She’s still working out the details. Nothing is confirmed."

Actress Eva Longoria and her boyfriend of two years, basketball player Tony Parker, are engaged.

"I am thrilled to announce that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, who have been dating steadily for two years, are officially engaged,” Longoria’s rep tells Us. “Tony flew into Los Angeles last night after his game and surprised Eva at her home as she got off work. The proposal was romantic and perfect.”

The pair met for the first time in the locker room after a Spurs’ game in November 2004. They briefly split in September but reconciled the following month when Longoria met up with her beau for a romantic weekend in Paris.

Longoria, 31, plays the feisty model Gabriel on the ABC dramedy Desperate Housewives, but has recently branched out into feature films with roles in Harsh Times and The Sentinel.

Parker, 24, who was born in Belgium and raised in France, is a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs.

Last year, Longoria, 31, said that the couple wasn’t ready to tie the knot. “We’re just totally happy where we’re at right now," she said. "No, we’re actually very clear about when we want to be engaged, and if we want to be engaged, and when the wedding is and it’s nowhere in 2006."

In fact, the actress’ rep said that the couple plans to wed in France in the summer of 2007 in what they describe as a "big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends."

This will be the first marriage for Parker. Longoria was married for two years to General Hospital’s Tyler Christopher before they divorced in 2002.

Will it last? I think it will, at least until after they are married.
