Saturday night at the Home Depot Center in nearby Carson, California David Beckham made his American soccer debut for Los Angeles Galaxy. Despite fears that an ankle injury would sideline him for his first game, Beckham did indeed play, about 13 minutes in the second half of the exhibition match against Chelsea. (Chelsea won, 1-0.)

The stadium was full of fans and many celebrities turned out including Victoria Beckham cheering for her husband in a box with their three children, as well as Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise and Tom Cruise’s mother Mary Lee Mapother, EvaLongoria, Olsen, Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy, Alicia Silverstone and rocker husband Chris Jarecki, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Drew Carey.

The sold-out stadium crowd erupted in cheers even when Beckham simply stood up from the bench and began stretching. And chants of "Beckham, Beckham" took over the stadium as he entered the game after the 77th minute.

At the press conference following the game Beckham said of his injury, "The ankle has swollen up slightly, but that was going to happen. We’ll see how it is tomorrow."

"It was a good performance from the team," he added. "We just lost one nil. My 15 minutes, it was nice to get out there. I haven’t trained all week. I hadn’t kicked a ball yet today. It was just nice to be out there with the lads and get this game over and done with. I enjoyed it."

Today the Beckhams will attend the "Welcome to L.A." party, hosted by the Cruises, and cohosts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles.

The hottest item at the game, besides David, were the Galaxy T-shirts. The one who stole the show was cute little Suri with her million and one facial expressions.

Designer Hugo Boss threw a party for the opening of Berlin Fashion Week yesterday. Reports say that Katie Holmes and Suri were not allowed into the party. The reasoning behind this snub was that "the guest list was closed and there were already too many people inside the event," according to contactmusic.com.

Tom Cruise and Suri Cruise were pictured exiting the Eden Roch hotel in France. Tom may believe an alien is his god, but he’s still a loving father. The warmth and love between Tom and Suri in this picture is tangible.

For all we know, Suri could have been taking baby steps for months.

Every other time we’ve seen her, Tom Cruise or Katie Holmes have been carting her around. The better to disguise Suri’s rumored advanced age.

We hear she’s actually 9 years old.

The Sun is reporting that Katie Holmes is pregnant with her second child with Tom Cruise. She was spotted with Tom in Madrid, trying to hide her bump under a loose dress as they watched David Beckham’s last game at Real Madrid. Even though she’s reportedly in the early stages of pregnancy, she apparently downed some alcohol at the post-match party. I find that part unbelievable. Tom has a sixth sense for these things, and would have replaced Katie’s drink with water before it ever got to her mouth.

A source said: “Katie and Tom are thrilled about having another baby on the way. She is glowing with happiness.”

We’re still debating if Katie is pregnant or not, but one thing is for sure, little Suri sure did turn out to be cute. If Tom and Katie do have another baby, it better come out looking like a baby Panda if it wants to upstage Suri.
