Star Jones Gets Her Own Talk Show

  Share

Hell has frozen over, Star Jones is returning to the TV landscape with her own talk show. The show is expected to launch this summer.

Star’s show, which has not yet been named, will connect the worlds of criminal justice with pop culture, the cable network said Wednesday.

For Reynolds, 44, it’s a homecoming: She began her TV career as a legal commentator on Court TV in 1991, before joining ABC’s The View when it started in 1997.

As for her new show: "The public is fascinated by the intersection of the legal world and the pop-culture world, and we hope to tap into that fascination as part of our overall strategy to broaden the appeal of the network’s daytime lineup," Steve Koonin, president of Court TV’s parent, Turner Entertainment Networks, said in a statement.

She brushed aside any questions about whether her new gig offered any sense of vindication. "It would not be smart to look at it as anything other than a blessing," she said. "I see only the positive. I had an amazing nine years."

She doesn’t watch "The View" anymore but follows news reports about it. "It’s not my show anymore," she said. "I wish them the best and I hope they wish me the best."

Star Jones Reynolds Returns to TV as a Lawyer

  Share

Star Jones Reynolds, who has been keeping a low profile since leaving "The View" last year when her nemesis Rosie O’Donnell was hired, will be back on the small screen during the May sweeps in an episode of NBC’s "Law & Order: SVU." Star, who actually started out as a prosecutor, will play a lawyer consulted on a case. Ludacris, whose father died recently, also has a role in the same episode.

Rosie O’Donnell Confirms Fight with Barbara Walters

  Share

Donald Trump just got a shot of credibility. Yesterday Trump sent a letter to Rosie which mentions a fight Rosie O’Donnell had with Barbara Walters backstage. Yesterday evening Rosie responded to comments on her blog asking Rosie if it was true that her and Walters had a fight, and Rosie confirmed it pictured above. This gives Trump credibility in my mind that he is telling the truth, by even risking a lawsuit if he’s lying by putting what he claims Walters said to him in writing.

This brings up an the issue of Walters lying again, which was an issue in Star Jones leaving the view. In my opinion, Barbara Walters has been proven to be a liar several times now when faced with difficult staffing decisions on The View.

Star Jones Gets Prank Phone Call on Radio Show

  Share

I’m not a big Star Jones fan, but what this caller did wasn’t funny, it was just rude. Real comedy is about delivery, and timing. This guy was rude and crude. He reminds me a lot of Rosie O’Donnell’s own ugly naked hatred. Star handled him like a professional. Star deserves respect too, especially during this time of the year.
