Snoop Dogg Busted Yet Again for Narcotics in Sweden

Snoop Dogg was held by police overnight on suspicion of using illegal narcotics, but was released after questioning and drug tests, a police spokesman said Monday. Snoop was heading to a party after a concert in the Swedish capital when police stopped the car he was riding in around 1:30 a.m., said Matts Brannlund, of the Stockholm police. He said Snoop Dogg and a female companion showed signs of drug use and were taken to a police station. "He was deemed to be under the influence of narcotics," Brannlund said.

A small amount of narcotics also was found in the car, but Brannlund could not specify which kind of drug and he said it was unclear whether it belonged to Snoop Dogg. "He underwent some tests that will now be sent away for analysis," Brannlund said. "In two to three weeks, we’ll know if he was on something." Snoop Dogg was released shortly after 5 a.m. but could face a fine if his drug test comes back positive, Brannlund said.

In Sweden, which has some of the strictest narcotics laws in Europe, minor drug offenses are punished with fines.

Snoop Dogg, who performed with P. Diddy (Sean Combs) in Stockholm’s Globe Arena late Sunday, was the latest international artist to get in trouble with the law following a gig in Sweden.

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty was fined in southern Sweden after traces of cocaine were found in his blood following a concert at the Hultsfred music festival in June 2006.

Later that month, Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose had to spend a day in a Stockholm jail cell after a brawl with a hotel security guard, but he was released after paying a fine.

It sounds like Snoop was being driven to a party at 1:30 a.m., but it’s unclear why police pulled the car over except the police wanted to check out the car, and the occupants. This sounds more like harassment than anything else. Not that Snoop is an angel, but it doesn’t sound like he did anything that would cause police to pull his car over.

Honestly, I don't think Snoop Dogg HAS to do anything suspicious anymore. He's like "Old Faithful" now, guaranteed to produce.

Snoop Dogg Pleads Innocent to Weapons Charge

Share  submit to reddit

Snoop Dogg pleaded not guilty Wednesday in an Orange County, California, court to a felony charge of knowingly possessing a dangerous weapon.

His attorney, Donald Etra, entered the plea on his behalf. If convicted, the rapper faces up to three years in prison.

On September 27, 2006 Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, tried to board a plane at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California, while carrying a 20-inch collapsible baton in a computer bag.

It is one of many non-lethal weapons that are illegal in California.

"The reason we’re pursuing this as a felony is because of Mr. Broadus’s criminal history, and his apparent and continued disregard for the law," said Orange County District Attorney spokeswoman Susan Schroeder.

"Snoop’s not guilty plea says it all," Etra says. "The item he’s charged with was a movie prop, not a weapon. Snoop never intended it to be used as anything other than a prop."

The rapper’s next hearing on the matter is slated for April 5.

Snoop, 35, has a another case currently under review with the L.A. district attorney’s office: On Oct. 26, he was arrested in Burbank, California, at Bob Hope Airport after police found a handgun and marijuana in his car. He was freed on $35,000 bond.

Because he is a convicted felon since a 1990 cocaine trafficking bust, he is forbidden from possessing firearms for the rest of his life.

On November 28, 2006 police detained Snoop and his entourage as they were leaving the Burbank studio where the Tonight Show with Jay Leno is filmed, and simultaneously executed a search warrant on his L.A. home and vehicles.

This led to the discovery of another handgun, more marijuana, cocaine and a false compartment in his vehicle. Snoop was arrested again, posted bail for $60,000 and was released that night.

The Los Angeles District Attorney has yet to file formal charges stemming from the latter two arrests.

Snoop should just say the 20-inch collapsible baton was a sex toy, then maybe Nancy Pelosi could get the charges dropped.

Snoop Dogg is Called a Rat

Share  submit to reddit

Suge Knight, the founder of Death Row Records, has an explanation for how his archenemy Snoop Dogg keeps avoiding jail, despite his numerous arrests for drugs and gun possession.

"Snoop is a rat. He’s a police informer. This is the only guy who never goes to jail no matter what. I don’t like rats," Knight said yesterday. The latest arrest for Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Broadus) came Tuesday after he taped his performance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Cops who pulled over his vehicle say they found cocaine, marijuana and a gun.

On Nov. 2, Dogg was arrested at the airport in Santa Ana, Calif., with a collapsible baton and was charged with possession of a deadly weapon. On Oct. 26, he was nabbed at the Burbank airport with a gun and a controlled substance. Dogg might be paranoid about his safety because he is afraid of Knight, especially after trashing the scary record mogul in a cover story in the new Rolling Stone. Snoop claims Knight threatened his life while Knight was serving five years in jail. And Knight has always been one of the names that comes up in the investigation of the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.

"I stepped to him [four years ago] at the BET Awards with my n–s, and he [Knight] was more scared than a mother[bleep]er," Snoop brags to Rolling Stone. "That was the scenario when n–s knew the balance had shifted. That’s when everybody felt like the floodgates was open on Suge. Snoop dissed him in public, and he didn’t do nothing."

When mono-named writer TourĂ© asks Snoop if he is afraid of reprisals, he replies, "[Bleep] nah . . . Never was afraid of him. I was afraid I was gonna have to kill him. That’s what I was afraid of."

Knight, a 6-foot-4 behemoth who played football for the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, told us: "I don’t have to go around and convince people I’m tough. The only being I fear is God. Snoop has never been in a real fight. When there’s trouble, he runs to the police. He throws up and starts crying."

Snoop Dogg Busted Yet Again

Share  submit to reddit

Rapper Snoop Dogg was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly possessing drugs and a firearm.

Detectives from the Burbank Police Department served a search warrant on Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, outside NBC studios in Burbank at approximately 7:30 p.m. this evening. Police say they found the rapper in possession of cocaine, a firearm and a large amount of marijuana. He was also cited for allegedly having a false compartment in his vehicle.

The rapper had just performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was leaving the studio when police pulled his car over on Bob Hope Drive and placed him under arrest. Bail has been set at $60,000, and said that the lawyer for the rap star expects him to be released sometime this evening.

During the performance, Snoop clutched a microphone with a large marijuana leaf symbol displayed across his hand.

Law enforcement officials say the search warrant was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into the Dogg’s arrest earlier this month at the Burbank Airport, after he allegedly tried carrying a gun in a carry-on bag onto a plane.

Rapper Snoop Dogg Arrested

Snoop Dogg, 35, was arrested on suspicion of illegal drug and gun possession, the Associated Press reports.

The rapper-turned-actor (born Calvin Broadus), was arrested Thursday afternoon at Bob Hope Airport, police said. He posted $35,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court December 12.

Airport police officers stopped Snoop Dogg at a loading zone for a vehicle code violation. When officers searched the vehicle they found a gun and marijuana, police said.

"There was no basis for this arrest," the rapper’s attorney, Donald Etra, said in a statement. "We believe that once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed."

The Orange County district attorney’s office is also considering charges against Snoop after authorities discovered a 21-inch collapsible baton in his bags as he was boarding a New York-bound flight from John Wayne International Airport last month.

In 1990, the rapper was convicted in of cocaine possession, and three years later was charged with gun possession during a traffic stop. He was acquitted of murder in 1996 after an alleged gang member was killed by gunfire from a vehicle in which Snoop Dogg was a passenger.

Snoop needs to get a concerned weapon permit, and it’ll all be legal, except for the dope.
