Seacrest Blames Cowell For Sagging ‘Idol’ Ratings

Ryan Seacrest is pointing the finger (no- not that finger) at Simon Cowell for American Idol’s sluggish ratings this season. The metrosexual host may have opened up a little too much about his co-worker:
"Clearly there’s an over-saturation of his character."
Seacrest quickly tried to atone for his gaffe, spouting some nonsense about how great the chemistry is on the show, blah, blah, blah… But he can’t take back what he said. Now he must prepare for the wrath of Cowell, which is somewhere between The Wrath Of Khan and The Grapes Of Wrath.
Paula Abdul: I Don’t Do Recreational Drugs

Many American Idol fans have questioned Paula Abdul’s sanity. There been times even when fellow judge Simon Cowell raised eyebrows when Abdul gives her opinion on each Idol contestant.
Some folks said she is on drugs, while others speculated that she had one too many drinks. But the singer-choreographer wanted to set the record straight she is not using any drugs or alcohol at all. “I’m sick of it. I’ve never been drunk. I don’t do recreational drugs. It’s defamation of character," the American Idol judge told OK! Magazine in its latest issue. The 44 year old star says that she suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, ac chronic pain condition, a disorder she develop at 17 during a cheerleader accident. The disorder caused Abdul to have restless nights, therefore leaving her exhausted and saying a whole of nonsense when she appears on the show.
Abdul eases the chronic pain with massages, anti-inflammatory medication and acupuncture. The American Idol judge came out about her condition in 2005 after posters from several American Idol boards comment on Abdul’s strange behavior not only on the show, but TV interviews.
"Fatigue and exhaustion just added to the whole thing looking so disoriented. But no alcohol and no drugs, absolutely no!," Abdul told Robin Luxe Life, a Vegas-based blog at the time.
Now we all know that Abdul is not addicted to using drugs or alcohol, the lady is otherwise completely fine and normal.
Simon Cowell Horrified at His Virginia Tech Eye Rolling
Simon Cowell spoke this morning about last night’s incident on American Idol, in which Cowell sarcastically rolled his eyes after contestant Chris Richardson offered condolences to the families of the victims at Virginia Tech.
Cowell said, "I couldn’t hear what Chris had said. I was talking to Paula. My reaction (rolling my eyes) was to what he had said previously, that singing nasally is a form of singing."
Simon said he was shocked when he saw what went down, "When I watched the show back, I was horrified."
When I watched the video it looked like the eye rolling came after Richardson offered condolences in a shameless effort to get a sympathy vote. What did you see?
Simon Cowell Says He’s Bigger Than Bruce Springsteen

Simon Cowell says he’s bigger than The Boss. In an interview to air Sunday on CBS’ "60 Minutes," the "American Idol" judge says he’s worth five times more to Sony BMG than Bruce Springsteen.
"I sell more records than Bruce Springsteen, sure," Cowell says of the 57-year-old rocker, who signed a contract that was reported to be in the neighborhood of $100 million. "I mean, in the last five years, I’ve probably sold over 100 million records. If (Springsteen) got one hundred (million dollars), I should have got five hundred (million dollars)," he says.
Cowell says he sells all those records because he’s signed "the biggest artist on the planet," Fox network’s "American Idol."
"Every single `Idol’ winner is now signed through Sony BMG," says Cowell. "And this applies to … all the countries … we sell ’Idol’ to, which is over 30 countries." Albums by "American Idol" winners and runners-up are distributed by labels within the Sony BMG system through a deal between Clive Davis and 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller.
Interviewer Anderson Cooper asks Cowell, 47, whether his deal with Sony BMG is in the same neighborhood as Springsteen’s.
"A hundred million … that’s a great deal," Cowell says.
Was he referring to himself or Springsteen?
"For him," Cowell says, grinning. "For him it’s a good deal."
