Martin Bashir (45), pictured above, was invited to speak at the Asian American Journalists’ Association, because he is of Pakistani decent. Bashir was born in London.

One of Bashir’s colleagues at ABC, Emmy Award-winning correspondent Juju Chang (pictured below), who had the misfortune of being present at the AAJA gala scholarship and awards banquet in Chicago last week when Bashir made his speech.

When Bashir spoke he said:

"[a speech] is like a dress on a beautiful woman. It has to be long enough to cover the important parts and short enough to keep you interested. My colleague Juju Chang has achieved this on both points."

"I’ve never been around so many Asian babes in my life. In fact, I’m mightily relieved that that the podium covers me from the waist downwards. I’ve been having trouble all evening…"

Miss Chang responded:

"See what I have to put up with?" She later described the comments as a "ridiculous joke" and added: "He has since apologised to me for his boorishness."

Channel spokesman Jerry Scheider said:

"This kind of remark has no place in any setting and Martin knows that and is truly sorry for his serious error in judgment."

Bashir has now also written to the journalists’ association apologising for the "tasteless remarks" he made at the event and describing his behaviour as a "moment of stupidity."

Bashir was recently promoted to take over Nightline with a big fat money deal. In June, Bashir revealed he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour but vowed to "get on with his life."

It is understood that he does not need surgery or treatment at this stage because the tumour is not affecting his well-being, but the situation will need to be monitored.

Maybe Bashir’s benign brain tumor is affecting his sense of decency.

Jess Origliasso has just confirmed pictures of her without clothes on, are in fact her. The pictures were taken three years ago by an ex lover, and sold to two Australian gossip magazines, as well as an Australian picture agency.

The Veronicas’ management at Warner Music is rumored to be taking legal action against the ex-lover, even though the ex-lover has an equal copyright to the pictures.

Jess’ lesbian lover MTV Australian VJ Ruby Rose, pictured above with Jess, is publicly supporting Jess and said:

"Both Jess and Lisa have had an incredibly difficult week and without doubt I am talking to them and helping them out where I can."

"From the whole situation with the pictures to Lisa Origliasso’s break-up with Dean Geyer, I can’t even imagine how they are coping with it all."

The Veronicas are due to leave Australia in 10 days, heading back to the US in time to release their hit album Hook Me Up in September. Along with Rose, the diminutive star siblings are scheduled to make an appearance at the Dolly Teen Choice Awards at Luna Park on August 13. They will then spend the next eight weeks promoting Hook Me Up in the US ahead of returning to Australia.

The scandal should only help sales of The Veronicas new album.

On the official fansite web forum for The Veronicas, Jess Origliasso posted a message to fans they consider legitimate. The message was posted in response to pictures of Jess that show her exposing herself. Click here to see it. The message says:

Hey guys, Jess here,

You are all seriously the best support team of all time. I love you all so much.
But in reading this thread, I do not encourage any of you to send in photos of yourselves in support of me.
It will prompt people to write even more articles, implying that I have "encouraged" or "inspired" you girl to expose themselves in support of me.
That is the last thing I want. You intention behind it is so sweet, and thank you for all have the courage to want to go to extremes for me. But im urging you to Not go ahead with the project.
Your support means so much to me, so thank you for that.

The fan support campaign would have consisted partly of Jess fans leaking pictures of themselves without clothes on. I say SUPPORT JESS!

Jess Origliasso, from Australian duo The Veronicas, is now in the middle of a naughty picture scandal. Pictures of Jess have surfaced showing her without clothes on. Sources are confirming this is Jess, and not her twin sister Lisa Origliasso. First pictures of Jess in a lesbian trist with an MTV VJ surfaced, and now this. Keep them coming.

On Monday pictures of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers cheerleaders hit the internet much to the girls’ surprise. The pictures below show members of the Blue Lightning squad posing provocatively, and in various stages of undress, and some of them in their cheerleading outfits.

One cheerleader named Nicole, appears to be in most of the pictures. She is the cheerleader mooning the camera on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

Blue Bombers spokesman Arash Madani told the Winnipeg Free Press on Monday:

"No current cheerleaders appear in the photos. The pictures were taken in 2005 at the latest."

"Each member puts in countless hours of training, volunteering, mentoring and making a positive impact in the community. A small number of isolated photos, from a member without any affiliation to the organization for quite some time, is not a reflection of what the Blue Lightning team or the franchise is about."

It’s doubtful anyone has ever had the impression that cheerleaders were good girls to begin with. In fact, Miley Cyrus takes more provocative pictures than these girls. FYI, these aren’t even the worst/best of the photos.

Sadly, despite the naughty cheerleaders, Winnipeg is win-less in three games this season, and ranks last in the CFL in points scored (64) and points allowed (103).
