Selena Gomez Changes Her Mind on Songs About Ex Boyfriends

I thought Selena Gomez was not like Miley Cyrus, or Taylor Swift, when it came to writing songs about ex-boyfriends when she was quoted as saying, "I get so mad about ex-boyfriends, but if a boy hurts me, I don’t write a song about it. They don’t deserve it!" Now she’s taken to her blog to clarify that:
RUMOR CONTROL
Hey Everyone–
There was recently a quote released about me saying that I don’t write songs about ex boyfriends, I may have been misunderstood and would like to clear that up. Most of my songs are about love, I am a 16 year old teenager and I sing about what is on every girls mind. Love. What I was implying was that the songs I sing about, the boys who have hurt me or that are no longer in my life don’t deserve a song to be written about them but, that’s impossible. Writing and singing is a gateway to sharing and getting out feelings. I hope that I have cleared up any confusion I may have caused to my fans! You guys rock and mean the world to me!
Take care and God bless,
Selena
Although her message is a bit muddled, I think she is saying that some of the emotions she channels into her song writing might come from pain she had after being hurt by a boy, but the song isn’t specifically about anyone in particular. I suppose that’s still better than Miley directing a song to her ex, or Taylor doing the same. Public humiliation by writing a song about someone doesn’t seem right if it’s only out of spite, or for revenge.
Selena Gomez has Advice for Ex Girlfriends

Selena Gomez, who is the current girlfriend of Nick Jonas, is proving once again how different she is from Miley Cyrus. Selena told OK! magazine:
“I get so mad about ex-boyfriends, but if a boy hurts me, I don’t write a song about it. They don’t deserve it!”
Taylor Swift should make a note of that advice too.
Selena Gomez to be the Next Miley Cyrus

Disney has decided to making a major motion picture out of the Selena Gomez TV sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place, and they’ll be filming it in New York. Selena said:
"Yes! We actually want to shoot it here in New York," she told MTV News. Gomez also talked a little bit about what she thinks might happen in the film, saying, "I think it would have to be that our secret is about to be exposed."
But until her big-screen dreams come true, Gomez is hard at work on the series. "I think that my fans will expect more magic and crazy stuff going on," she said of the show’s ongoing second season. "I think you see Alex more mature this season."
Gomez excitedly revealed the one big way that her character is growing up and finding herself. "She gets her first boyfriend," she said. "His name is Daniel, and he’s just this really sweet guy who, I honestly think, has a lot of potential. I think he’s going to do great." She added, "No, [he doesn’t know our secret] yet."
But if Gomez could have her way, her big celebrity crush Shia LaBeouf would make a cameo in either the TV show or the movie. "You’d think that as much as I promote it [he’d be coming on]," she joked. "I’m, like, begging, but it’s not happening. I know I’m a nerd! Please, Shia, come on my show!"
I hope fame doesn’t go to Selena’s head, the way it has with Miley.
