David Letterman Apologizes to Sarah Palin Again
On Monday’s show David Letterman tried to be more sincere in his apology to Sarah Palin, and her two daughters Willow and Bristol, about several sexist jokes he made about Willow and Sarah.
Letterman made the apology under pressure, and with much less of the sarcasm, because groups are forming calling for him to be fired. One such group even has a web site called firedavidletterman.com, which plans a rally in front of the Ed Sullivan Theater today at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled all their advertising on CBS site because of patron complaints. A rep said:
"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down."
More advertisers need to follow Embassy Suites example.
It’s no secret that Letterman is a liberal democrat activist, who are usually not forced to take responsibility for their bad behavior because of a double standard that exists. It appears people are coming together to set certain standards of common decency that everyone needs to live by in our culture, and we hope to see it continue.
We have liked Letterman’s show for a long time, but over recent years he has become offensive with his political attacks that are not entertaining. It seems appropriate that Letterman should be fired, but before he goes he should have Sarah Palin, and her daughters, on The Late Show to apologize to them for demeaning them, and women, especially underage girls, and those underage girls who have babies.
We have read many of the liberal blogs, and liberal newspaper sites, and all are trying to play down Letterman’s offense to women, only because they hate Sarah Palin, but even liberal democrats outside the media understand common decency, and they are speaking out, even if their mainstream media won’t let their voices be heard.

Sarah Palin Calls David Letterman a Dirty Old Man
Sarah Palin isn’t happy with the perverted attacks David Letterman made against her 14 year-old daughter. Palin said on the Today Show:
"I would say you and anybody else are extremely naive to believe that very convenient excuse of David Letterman’s the other day. It took a couple of days for him to think of that excuse, no, he wasn’t talking about my daughter, my 14-year-old that was with me at the game, he was talking about some other daughter."
Sarah is right when she says Letterman crossed the line, and that he owes women an apology, not just her 14 year-old daughter, but that’s not going to happen. Letterman isn’t an old grandpa type that respects and cares about young or adult women, we know that now.
Letterman will be better remembered now for his politics, and lack of respect for women, than his show. As song writer Jewel once wrote:
"In the end, only kindness matters."
David Letterman Insults Sarah Palin 14 Year-old Daughter
On Tuesday’s show, David Letterman joked in his opening monologue that the Alaska Governor Sarah Palin visited Yankee Stadium, sitting in "far, far right field" with Rudy Giuliani. "They had a wonderful time," he continued. "The toughest part of her visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter." Letterman also said that Alex Rodriquez knocked up Palin’s daughter at the game, except the daughter at the game was not 18 year-old Bristol Palin, it was Palin’s 14 year-old daughter.
Todd Palin responded to Letterman’s attack on his family saying:
"Any ’jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."
Governor Sarah Palin also responded saying:
"Concerning Letterman’s comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he’d ever dare make such comments about anyone else’s daughter): ’Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands, that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone’s daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.’"
In the video above Letterman devoted his Top Ten to insulting Sarah Palin, but it was his opening monologue that he used to attack Palin’s 14 year-old daughter. In the video below Letterman, an admitted liberal democrat activist, said the jokes were not about the 14 year-old daughter, but rather about the 18 year-old daughter, even though only the 14 year-old daughter was at the Yankees game with her mother and father. Letterman also did not apologize, but rather defended the attack he labeled as jokes, then he repeated the attacks a second time. Letterman never mentioned Palin’s visit to New York was to raise money for a children’s charity there.
It’s okay for Letterman to attack a politician, but not the politician’s family. Let’s also call it what it is, it was an attack, not a joke. I’m tired of comedians trying to say it was comedy when they directly attack someone. Professional comedians know that is bull, and so does Letterman. I used to be a fan of Letterman, but now I think his hatred for people who don’t agree with him has gotten the best of him, just like the guy who shot the security guard at the holocaust museum in Washington D.C. Someone better keep an eye on Letterman, or he’s liable to shoot someone thinking his gun is microphone. Oh, that last sentence was a joke. *Wink wink*
Levi Johnston Talks More About Sarah and Bristol Palin
Levi Johnston went on the CBS Early Show to give what Levi calls "his side of the story."
Levi rehashed most of what we’ve heard already, and also talked about how he lived at Sarah Palin’s house for while, which Sarah denies.
Levi also voiced concerns over what could be an pending custody battle.
If Sarah Palin really believes in family cohesiveness, she’ll encourage Bristol to be reasonable, and not turn this into a custody court battle.
Levi Johnston Interview on Tyra Banks – Video
Levi Johnston appeared this week on the Tyra Banks show, where he reveals a lot we didn’t know about Bristol Palin, and her mother Sarah Palin.
