Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe Split
Earlier this month there were reports that Reese and Ryan were feuding at the Flags of Our Father’s premiere, and now this.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated. The couple’s rep released a statement Monday morning that says "We are saddened to announce that Reese & Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time."
Sources say Witherspoon has contacted celebrity divorce lawyer Robert Kaufman, who has represented Jennifer Aniston, Roseanne and Lisa Marie Presley.
Sources also say Witherspoon spoke with Kaufman about divorcing Ryan Phillippe, her husband of seven years. The couple has two children. They met at Witherspoon’s 21st birthday party.
As for why Witherspoon contacted Kaufman, sources say it was not triggered by one event. Rather, one connected source says it was "cumulative."
Divorce papers have not yet been filed.
No pre-nup, and Reese makes 20 times more money. Next we’ll hear Reese say Ryan hit her. Good luck with that.
Flags of Our Fathers Premiere
Reese Witherspoon shows her support for husband Ryan Phillippe during a special New York screening of his film, the Clint Eastwood directed Flags of Our Fathers, on Monday. Looks like a great movie.
Ryan Phillippe Does Daddy Duty
Ryan Phillippe took his daughter Ava (6) and son Deacon (2) to see Cars on opening day this past weekend. The Disney-Pixar studios’ movie zoomed past The Break Up this weekend, and racked up an estimated $62.8 million in ticket sales! Reese Witherspoon was not with the family fun event. Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Phillippe Get Hot and Sweaty Together
In Westwood, California, at UCLA’s running track, (where I run sometimes) Hollywood hunks Jake Gyllenhaal, 25, and Ryan Phillippe, 31, took to the track this weekend sharing, amongst other things, a personal trainer. Ryan (in his favorite athletic shorts) and Jake (in his favorite sunglasses) looked like they trained hard and played harder, running dizzying circles around the track and chatting up a storm. Both got hot and sweaty with each other, but the real question is, did they hit the showers together? Reese Witherspoon's Baby Bump
In Malibu, California Reese Witherspoon has been sporting maternity-style clothes for awhile now. Yesterday, Reese (30) walked along the sandy beaches in the afternoon wearing a very suspiciously roomy bathing suit. Along for the walk was pet pooch Frank Sinatra and daughter Ava (6). Reese is undoubtedly sporting a baby bump behind her floaty tops! We’ll hear soon enough but no official word yet on Reese being pregnant with her third child. Reese and hubby Ryan Phillippe also have a son together — Deacon, 2. Ryan Phillippe went incognito this past weekend in a white hoodie, and shades as he is picked up dinner-to-go for his family in Malibu.
