Russell Brand And Britney Spears Flirt Telepathically In VMA Promo

  Share

They may not have addressed the elephant in the room when they appeared together in a 2008 VMA promo, but this year, Britney Spears and repeat host Russell Brand are taking their relationship to the next level, they are the voices in each other’s heads.

In a new promo for the Video Music Awards, which air live from New York City on September 13, Spears longs to be Brand’s date for the big night. Spears, clad in a white bikini and large black hat, thinks to herself, "I wonder if he’ll invite me. I mean, I can obviously get an invite, but it would be nice for Russell to invite me personally, now that we’re friends and all."

Brand then wonders to himself if he could have offended Spears somewhere along the way, so much so that perhaps she wouldn’t want to see him at this year’s show. "I hope I didn’t balls it up with her last time," he thinks to himself. "Some of those things I said could have been construed as offensive. I hope she don’t think ill of me."

Then Spears thinks to herself that perhaps she may have done something to make Brand think she isn’t interested. "Should I have played it up more when he was flirting with me last year? I have to admit, there is something sexy about his dangerous ways."

The spot ends with Brand realizing that he can hear everything Spears is thinking and that maybe it works both ways. Of course, that leads Brand to think of only inappropriate ideas for the pop star. "Britney," he thinks, hoping she can hear him. "This is the voice of your mind. Go to Russell’s hotel room and abandon yourself. Give yourself to him, Britney. Sleep with Russell!"

The real voices in Britney’s head have told her to do worse things than sleeping with Brand, like telling her to sleep with Adnan Ghalib.

The 2009 VMAs will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City Sept. 13 (9PM EST) on MTV.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Movie Review

benjamin button The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Movie Review

Over the weekend I went to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt, and Bedtime Stories, starring Adam Sandler, and Russell Brand.

Bedtime Stories was entertaining as expected. Adam Sandler and Russell Brand were both good, but the star of the movie was the guinea pig.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was an excellent piece of work. The movie followed Benjamin Button as he was born an old man, and continued to grow younger. The story was woven together with a love story. There wasn’t a single boring part in the entire movie, depsite a nearly 3 hour play time. The

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button movie was based on a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1921, who is considered one of the greatest authors of all time.

I would highly recommend seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Brad Pitt did an award winning job in the movie, and the filming, and special effects as Button got younger was very realistic. The movie itself deserves a Best Picture award.

Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross Suspended from BBC

  Share

On October 18 Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross got into a lot of trouble with the BBC after they called 78 year-old Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, and left crude messages. One message said that Russell had intercourse with Sachs’ 23-year-old granddaughter Georgina Baillie. Ross then suggested Sachs might kill himself when he listened to the message.

Aspiring model Miss Baillie, who dances in a burlesque troop called Satanic Sluts, branded the presenters’ behavior "despicable". Baillie also admitted she had slept with Brand. Miss Bailie added that she felt "totally and utterly exposed and betrayed" by the calls.

Since the show was broadcast it received 27,000 complaints. The most disturbing part is that the show had been prerecorded, then aired later.

Mark Thompson, BBC Director-General issued the following statement:

"I would like to add my own personal and unreserved apology to Andrew Sachs, his family and to licence fee payers for the completely unacceptable broadcast on BBC Radio 2. This is not a marginal case. It’s clear from the views expressed by the public that this broadcast has caused severe offence and I share that view. This gross lapse of taste by the performers and the production team has angered licence payers."

The Prime Minister then said:

“This is clearly inappropriate and unacceptable behavior, as is now widely recognized. Ofcom have said they will investigate the matter and it is for the BBC, the BBC Trust and Ofcom to take any appropriate action.”

Russell Brand resigned from the radio show, and said he took "full responsibility" for the prank and declared:

"I only do that radio show to make people laugh."

"Obviously it’s gone beyond the point where I do that and I’m making people unhappy and angry and sad. So I’d like to not do that radio show any more."

Explaining why he made the calls, Brand said:

"I got a bit caught up in the moment."

"I forgot that at the core of the rude comments and silly songs were the real feelings of a beloved and brilliant comic actor and a very sweet and big hearted young woman."

Ross, who was suspended by the BBC, said:

"I am deeply sorry and greatly regret the upset and distress that my juvenile and thoughtless remarks on the Russell Brand show have caused."

"I have not issued a statement previously because it was my intention and desire to offer an apology to all those offended on my Friday night program."

"However, it was a stupid error of judgment on my part, and I offer a full apology."

Sachs said he was not "out for revenge," but did say that he respected Brand’s decision to stand down.

Mr Sachs said he would not take the matter any further, saying of Brand:

"I hope he moves forward, I really hope he does."

This is what happens when professional humor crosses over into childishness.

MTV VMA Awards Best 2 Minutes

  Share

Britney Spears won 3 MTV Moon Man awards at the MTV VMA Awards, and she looked fantastic … and normal. YAY! Oh, and Jordin Sparks says purity rings are okay, because not everyone wants to be sluts. The statement might carry more weight if she were hot.
