John Edwards (55) had an affair that resulted in a love child, Frances Quinn Hunter, with Rielle Hunter (44), while his devoted wife Elizabeth Edwards (59) is dying from cancer. Despite everything, Elizabeth is defending John and released this statement:

Our family has been through a lot. Some caused by nature, some caused by human weakness, and some most recently caused by the desire for sensationalism and profit without any regard for the human consequences. None of these has been easy. But we have stood with one another through them all. Although John believes he should stand alone and take the consequences of his action now, when the door closes behind him, he has his family waiting for him.

John made a terrible mistake in 2006. The fact that it is a mistake that many others have made before him did not make it any easier for me to hear when he told me what he had done. But he did tell me. And we began a long and painful process in 2006, a process oddly made somewhat easier with my diagnosis in March of 2007. This was our private matter, and I frankly wanted it to be private because as painful as it was I did not want to have to play it out on a public stage as well. Because of a recent string of hurtful and absurd lies in a tabloid publication, because of a picture falsely suggesting that John was spending time with a child it wrongly alleged he had fathered outside our marriage, our private matter could no longer be wholly private. The pain of the long journey since 2006 was about to be renewed.

John has spoken in a long on-camera interview. Admitting one’s mistakes is a hard thing for anyone to do. I am proud of the courage John showed by his honesty in the face of shame. The toll on our family of news helicopters over our house and reporters in our driveway is yet unknown. But now the truth is out, and the repair work that began in 2006 will continue. I ask that the public, who expressed concern about the harm John’s conduct has done to us, think also about the real harm that the present voyeurism does and give me and my family the privacy we need at this time.

Elizabeth and John celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in July. Even though the rest of us know John is 100% lying about everything Elizabeth still chooses to believe what she wants to believe, and that’s up to her. She is dying, so no one should expect her to just kick John to the curb, when she needs all the support she can get right now.

There are a lot of wives that will overlook a husband’s affair, until they get their mistress pregnant, which is too much for most women to accept. We’ll see what happens when John finally submits to a paternity test. There are rumors that Miss Hunter helped plant the camera which snapped of picture of John holding the love child, and that she wants John to take a paternity test so everyone knows he’s the father of the child.

John gave an interview to Night Line which aired on August 8. In the interview (part 1 above and part 2 below), John was not forthcoming, gave scripted answers that would make Bill Clinton blush, and still appears to be hiding the truth. John isn’t holding back to protect Elizabeth.

John Edwards wanted to be the President of the United States of America, and Barack Obama was considering John as a Vice Presidential running mate, so we have the right to expect better behavior from John than lying and cheating. He’s supposed to set an example, but instead John has proven he is someone that can’t be trusted or believed.

With all that said, Rielle Hunter, who did not list a father on the birth certificate, is not going to ask for a paternity test to prove whether or not her 5-month-old daughter is John’s. Rielle said she wants to “maintain her privacy and her daughter’s privacy.” Seems like those rumors that John was transferring large sums of money to Hunter could be true after all.

When is the media going to investigate the Barack Obama love child rumor?

John Edwards just admitted he did in fact have a sexual affair with Rielle Hunter … a sexual affair, but says, despite having had sex with that woman, that he is not the father of the love child Frances Quinn Hunter. Edwards claims Andrew Young (41), a married man with children, like Edwards, is the father of the child. Young is a political operative that has been working with Edwards for years, and was a key official in Edwards presidential campaign.

Edwards say he was 99% honest, so we’re thinking the 1% of dishonesty has to do with the love child. We will only believe Edwards is not the father of the child when we see a DNA test confirming he is not since we have so much evidence pointing to Edwards being the father.

First Edwards was caught meeting up with the woman who he had the affair with, Rielle Hunter, but ran and hit from reporters to avoid getting caught. Fox News then interviewed a security guard and confirmed the reporters’ story. Information was then reported that Edwards payed support money to Hunter. Finally, and most incriminating of all, a picture was taken with a hidden camera of Edwards in a hotel room in Beverly Hills holding the love child Frances Quinn Hunter, whom he denies as his biological child. Why keep visiting the baby, and holding the baby if it’s not yours?

We think Edwards has been 100% dishonest, and as a result his politcal career is over.

Edwards issued the following statement about his admitted sexual affair:

"In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough."

"I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby."

"It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up – feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help."

"I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say."

Edwards has not taken a paternity test to confirm that he is not the father of the baby, and Young has not taken a paternity test to confirm he is the father of the baby. Young has not been caught visiting the baby, but Edwards has.

Edwards wife, who is dying from cancer, must be really proud of her husband.

There’s also a rumor that Barack Obama has a love child. Why isn’t the media investigating that story?

John Edwards, who is on Barack Obama’s list of possible Vice Presidential running mates, was caught by the National Enquirer with his love child. The Enquirer actually got pictures inside a hotel room of Edwards and his daughter Frances Quinn Hunter at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, while he was visiting his mistress Rielle Hunter. The Enquirer reports:

“These photos are damning proof,” said a source close to the situation.

“He’s been caught lying about his affair with Rielle and their love child for many months – and now the proof against him is piling up."

“His elaborate coverup is unraveling at the seams.”

If Obama picks Edwards as a running mate, he’ll have no choice but to address this evidence. Does Obama really need this kind of baggage?

The National Enquirer has discovered that John Edwards (55) has been paying former campaign contractor Rielle Hunter, who is allegedly the mother of his love child, $15,000 a month to keep her quiet. The Enquirer reports:

"The money is being funneled to Hunter by a wealthy colleague who was closely tied to the Edwards’ campaign. This same man is also shoveling cash to Edwards’ pal and former aide Andrew Young – who tried to take the heat off the ex-Senator by claiming he is the father of Rielle’s baby."

The Edwards and Rielle’s baby is a girl named Frances Quinn Hunter, who was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

The Enquirer quotes a source as saying:

"A super-rich pal – who was closely involved with the campaign finances – is helping John. It’s likely this man doesn’t know all the dirty details of John’s extramarital affair, but is acting out of loyalty and is not asking a lot of questions – only writing the checks."

On July 21 when enquirer reporters caught Edwards making a secret late-night visit to Rielle (44), and their infant child at the Los Angeles Beverly Hilton hotel. Fox News confirmed this report after interviewing a security guard from the hotel who questions Edwards after he locked himself in bathroom to avoid the reporters.

No other major liberal media outlet has reported the Edwards love child scandal, except The National Enquirer, who broke the story, and Fox News, who confirmed the story.

Why so silent?

Fox News reports they interviewed the security guard at the Beverly Hills hotel, who intervened between John Edwards and two tabloid reporters. The reporters caught Edwards visiting Rielle Hunter and his love child. The report says:

The Beverly Hilton Hotel guard said he encountered a shaken and ashen-faced Edwards — whom he did not immediately recognize — in a hotel men’s room early Tuesday morning in a literal tug-of-war with reporters on the other side of the door.

"What are they saying about me?" the guard said Edwards asked.

"His face just went totally white," the guard said, when Edwards was told the reporters were shouting out questions about Edwards and Rielle Hunter, a woman the National Enquirer says is the mother of his child.

The guard said he escorted Edwards, who was not a registered guest at the hotel, out of the building after 2 a.m. Edwards did not say anything while he was escorted out, said the guard, adding that at times the reporters on the scene were "rough on him," sticking a camera in his face and shouting questions.

The guard did not recognize Edwards at the time of the incident, but said he concluded it was the 2008 presidential hopeful after hearing reports about the incident and finding an Enquirer reporter’s notebook at the scene.

The guard said during the chase the reporters had dropped the notebook, which he picked up. "This book has everything in it on him," he said, referring to Edwards. The guard later confirmed Edwards’ identity after being shown a photograph.

A former campaign staffer, speaking on condition of anonymity, told FOXNews.com he wishes he were "more surprised" to hear reports Edwards was visiting Hunter. "I’m definitely upset by it. I wish I was more surprised, though."

Edwards this week has repeatedly refused to comment on the Enquirer report. Asked about it on Thursday at an event in New Orleans, he said: "I have no idea what you’re asking about. I’ve responded, consistently, to these tabloid allegations by saying I don’t respond to these lies and you know that … and I stand by that."

Edwards spokesmen did not respond to repeated calls by FOXNews.com to respond to this story.

As recently as last month, individuals vetting vice presidential candidates for Barack Obama had listed Edwards as a potential running mate. Edwards was viewed as a candidate who could help Obama appeal to white, working-class voters who had favored Hillary Clinton in the primaries.
