According to People, Lynne Spears, despite being on the receiving end of a personally delivered nasty-gram, is confident that it will all work out.

"Everything is going to be fine," she told PEOPLE while shopping in Kentwood, La. "I’ve got a strong family, and everything is going to be fine."

Spears, who was picking up groceries at a local store on Sunday, also said that "hopefully" daughter Britney will make it to a family cookout in their hometown for the Fourth of July holiday.

Britney Spears seems to be on a different page than Mama Spears and doesn’t sound like she’s moving toward any reconciliation.

I’m praying for her right now. [I hope] she gets all the help she needs," [Britney] Spears said.

Whether the two can overcome their differences, she said, "In time, who knows what will happen?" Spears also insinuated that she likely would not go to Kentwood for the holiday, saying, "I don’t know. I like it here."

Stalemate?

Lynne knows her daughter. She knows her weaknesses, too.

We’d read sketchy reports that Angelina Jolie was peeved that Brad Pitt’s mom had been witnessed visiting Jennifer Aniston, but Life & Style is taking it one step further, calling it a family war.

According to the magazine:

When Angelina Jolie threw Brad Pitt a party for Father’s Day, she was kind enough to invite Brad’s parents. But when his mom, Jane Pitt, left to visit Brad’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, Angie was furious! “When Jane returned to the party, Angelina froze her out,” an insider tells Life & Style in this week’s cover story, “and after the party, Angie and Brad had a huge fight about Jen and how she’s still in Brad’s life.”

Days later, Doug Pitt, Brad’s brother, added insult to injury when he called Jen "a friend of Brad’s." A Pitt family pal says Angie called Doug to tell him to keep his mouth shut — and then called Jane. “Angie is the mother of Jane’s grandchild and feels she deserves more respect,” says a Pitt family insider. “She told her, ‘If you continue to disrespect me and carry on like this, then you won’t see Shiloh.’”

So Angelina’s threatening to withhold visits with the "blob?"

If it’s true, and who knows anymore, it’s a move that would make Britney Spears proud. If Angelina got so mad she tried to file a restraining order against Brad’s family, why, she and Brit-Brit could be BFFs!

Weren’t the Jolie-Pitt’s in Prague for Father’s Day, though? We just can’t keep up with all the globe-trotting.

TMZ has just posted a video of Britney delivering a letter to her mother but, alas, it is not a restraining order as one might expect. It was simply a letter informing her mother of what is proper behavior, as Britney knows about that, y’all.

Sources say Britney feels that her mom turned on her in the days before she entered Promises rehab. She also feels Lynne Spears is not stable enough to be around Brit’s kids because she may have her own "issues." We’re told the letter bluntly asks Lynne to stay away from the children if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.

We’re also told Spears has become super-protective of her kids and is taking back a lot of the control that others were exercising over her life.

I’m confused — is this the same Britney that has been closing down clubs and showing her naughty bits all over town? The only control I see her exercising is whether she’ll be showing us the upstairs or downtown.

Train Wreck Alert: Britney Spears wants to take the "Ex" off of "Fed-Ex." The National Enquirer is reporting (via MSNBC) that Britney wants K-Fed in her life again, saying, "I want my family back!" Yes, when we think of family, we think of Britney. Nothing says I love you like a restraining order, which she is rumored to be filing against her mother.

Although he had suspected that Spears has been stalling on the legalities of the split because of second thoughts, Federline was still shocked when she dropped the bombshell, a “source close to the couple” said. Spears’ rep denies the story.

The phone conversation, which was about custody rights, grew heated and Federline said he wasn’t interested in a reconciliation, the source told the tab. But Spears became upset and threatened to drag out the divorce for months “until he saw things her way and came back to her.”

Britney Spears went shopping yesterday and conveniently forgot that a changing room is for covering your nudity. Is that a guilty expression on her face? Maybe she has her newest legal troubles on her mind.

We kept hearing about this escalation in the Britney vs. her Mom feud. With additional details surfacing, it’s getting uglier.

Apparently, Brit-Brit is in a snit-snit about Lynne’s friendship with Kevin Federline, Shar Jackson, et al, and is still fuming that her mom sided with Federline during the rehab/intervention and during custody wrangling.

According to X17, "a source" is confirming that Britney Spears is about to file a request for a restraining order against her mother, Lynne Spears.

Our source tells us that the paperwork is completed and that Britney is claiming her mother is abusing prescription pain medication and that she should be kept away from Sean and Jayden. The papers are supposed to be filed today or tomorrow.

Since Britney and Lynne are estranged, Grandma Spears has to visit the grandbabies when they’re with Federline. The restraining order, if it goes through, will stop those playdates.

In the topsy-turvy, Cheetos-fueled, head-shaving, nip-slip world of Britney it’s hard to tell whether any of it is true.

The strain doesn’t stop her from going out every night or shopping with her friends by day.
