Redmond ONeal Released from Jail to Visit Mom

Redmond O’Neal was allowed to leave jail on Saturday to spend about three hours by the bedside of his mother Farrah Fawcett with a police escort. Redmond has said his mother weighs only 86 lbs, and although that claim has been denied, they don’t let people out of jail for no reason. It seems Farrah, who is battling cancer, must be sicker than reps are saying.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said:
"A judge signed a removal order. The O’Neal family paid for all transportation costs, which totaled about $1,300. Saturday they drove him to visit with his mother."
"It happens sometimes for a funeral or, if someone is gravely ill, someone can be released on a temporary order."
If ever there was a time for Redmond to find something to motivate him to quit drugs this should be it. Do it for mom Redmond.

Redmond O’Neal Formally Charged with Heroin Possession

Redmond O’Neal, who remains in jail, was formally charged with one felony count of heroin possession Tuesday.
Redmond, who’s currently serving probation for a June 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction, is also facing drug charges in another case that involved his father, and which he pleaded not guilty to less than two weeks ago. Redmond reportedly was kicked out of rehab last week, but prosecutors could not confirm details, and would only say he faces a judge in the alleged matter on Wednesday.
Redmond may be looking at jail time rather than another round of rehab.
Redmond ONeal Arrested for Heroin and Xanax Possession

According to Radaronline, Redmond O’Neal was in possession of heroin and xanax when he was arrested in a jail parking lot on Sunday. A source said Redmond was driving, was acting erratically and drew attention to himself.
In the past Redmond has been in trouble with the law for methamphetamine, which is an upper, whereas heroin and xanax are downers. Hopefully he doesn’t mix them or it could be lethal.
Redmond is under stress since his mother Farrah Fawcett remains in the hospital, so he’s not likely to stop using drugs unless he gets some real help. We hope Redmond gets the help he needs.
Redmond O’Neal Arrested for Drugs at Jail

Redmond O’Neal (24), who recently got kicked out of a drug rehab program for pissing dirty, was arrested this morning in a jail parking lot for possession of narcotics, and for bringing narcotics into a jail facility, Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed. Whitemore said:
"At about 9:30 a.m., our deputies did a routine security check on a car in the parking lot of one of our jails. Redmond was driving the vehicle, and admitted to deputies he was in possession of drugs."
Whitmore adds that O’Neal was accompanied by a friend "who wanted to visit someone" at the facility located about 40 miles north of L.A. While he wasn’t actually caught passing drugs onto any inmates, "the parking lot is considered part of the jail and is a secure area."
O’Neal, who’s currently serving probation for a June 2008 DUI and drug possession conviction, is also facing drug charges in another case that involved his father to which he pleaded not guilty less than two weeks ago.
In February, a Malibu court issued a bench warrant for Redmond after he missed an arraignment in connection with a September 2008 drug bust in which he and his dad were arrested.
Redmond O’Neal remains in police custody, and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. A court hearing for this latest arrest has been set for April 7.
Redmond may be honest, but he’s not so smart.
The mug shot above is from Redmond’s last arrest, and the one below is from his jail parking lot arrest. He looks terrible.

Ryan O’Neal Pleads Guilty to Drug Charge

Ryan O’Neal (67) has pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge earlier today in Malibu. Ryan will now enter an 18 month drug diversion program. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office says the case will be dismissed if O’Neal successfully completes the program. LUCKY!!!
Ryan was arrested in September along with his son, Redmond, and was later charged with felony methamphetamine possession. Sheriff’s deputies had searched the actor’s home while doing a check on Redmond O’Neal, who was on probation for a previous drug conviction.
We will never know for sure if Ryan accepted responsibility for the drugs to protect his son Redmond, but if he did, then let’s hope his son doesn’t waste this opportunity. With a drug conviction on Ryan’s record, a judge won’t consider his word worth much, if he asks the court to be easy on his son the next time he has legal trouble.
