Just yesterday Penelope Cruz told the world she saw Suri Cruise, but today she refuses to talk about the Suri sighting anymore.

“I’m not going to talk about that anymore,” she says of her Suri sighting, “I answered that yesterday and I’m not going to talk about it in detail because I really protect the people that I love.”

Yesterday Penelope said, “one of the most beautiful babies I’ve ever seen.” In an interview today, Penelope blamed a lapse in judgment for her outburst of Suri details. “It’s important to keep living life as an observer and not just feel like you’re being the thing observed because then you start looking at yourself from the outside instead of really alert…I forget people are looking at me in a situation like that, like yesterday.”

What the heck is she talking about? I’m thinking Tom Cruise decided not to pay Penelope for saying she saw Suri, so now she’s on the verge of saying it’s all a hoax. This is when we need Perry Mason to drill her with confusing questions until she cracks wide open like a dam, and spills all the crazy UFO alien details about Suri.

Tom Cruise’s ex-girlfriend, Penelope Cruz, is the latest celeb to say she has seen Suri Cruise. “She’s really beautiful. She’s one of the most beautiful babies I’ve ever seen,” the 32-year-old actress told the Associated Press Thursady at the British premiere of her new film, Volver. Cruz, who dated Cruise from 2001 to 2004, declined to offer other details of the meeting.

Suri, the daughter of Tom Cruise (44), and Katie Holmes (27) hasn’t been seen in public since she was born on April 18, 2006. Earlier this month, however, Jada Pinkett Smith said that she also has seen the baby. “She’s one of the sweetest babies I’ve ever met in my life,” Pinkett Smith said. “She’s an absolute beauty and she’s Daddy’s little girl.”

Cruise’s pal and fellow Scientologist, Leah Remini, has also met Suri. The King of Queens star said the little girl, “looks like Tom and Katie. She’s just beautiful.” Um, duh, I’m sure everyone knows Suri looks like her parents. Doesn’t convince me that she saw her Scientology buddy’s baby.

Let me just add that I’ve seen Suri too. There she was in a little baby basket. I could see her silhouette on a screen that made it impossible for me, a non-scientologist, to look directly at Suri. It was so I wouldn’t go blind from the vision of such purity that is Suri. I even had to wear welder’s goggles. I was allowed to take a few pictures, but I was required to keep the lens-cap on, so the pictures didn’t turn out.

Matthew McConaughey is proud of his break-up from Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, because they have become firm friends. The stars fell for each other while they were shooting action adventure Sahara in 2003, but the romance didn’t last, and they split earlier this year. McConaughey has taken a lot from the split, insisting they managed to end their romance on good terms.

He says, “Break-ups suck, but it was true and honest and we both still respect each other, and we’re still friends. That is the most that I could ask for out of any kind of break-up… We still care about each other, we still love each other.”
