Penelope Cruz won an Oscar Award at the Academy Awards last night for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the artist Maria Elena in Woody Allen’s 2008 romantic comedy Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Cruz gave an emotional speech, but not quite as emotional as Kate Winslet.

After Javier Bardem exited from the cast of the musical Nine, producers started looking for a replacement, and they found one. Daniel Day-Lewis is not in talks to replace Javier as the lead character, Guido Contini, a film director experiencing personal and creative crisis while trying to balance all the women in his life.

The leading ladies that will play opposite Daniel are Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Judi Dench, and Marion Cotillard. What a lineup!

The musical will be directed by Rob Marshall.

It’s so nice to see Hollywood filming more musicals.

In the Vicky Cristina Barcelona movie trailer, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson kiss each other at about the 1:11 mark. It’s another movie by Woody Allen who is still filming his fantasies about Scarlett, and getting paid to do it.

Penelope Cruz will appear alongside Ben Kingsley in a new movie called Elegy. Once again Cruz will appear without clothes on in the movie. It seems pointless for Cruz to expose herself in a movie that appears destined to bomb at the box office, even though it may have artistic merit. Cruz does prove however, she still has a nice chest.
