Britney Spears was stopped for speeding by the California Highway Patrol on her way to Las Vegas. She continued driving for about a mile with cops lights flashing behind her. When she finally pulled into a gas station another cop car was waiting for her. She gave the excuse that she was speeding because the paparazzi were chasing her. Cops bought the story, and let her go. One cop commented, "it pays to be a pop star."

I was caught speeding once and I told them I was trying to outrun the demons in my head, but they still gave me a ticket and called me crazy. I guess police only take a person seriously when they’re a celebrity.

Back at Britney’s house authorities are investigating claims that Britney is not caring for her dog properly. Madeline Bernstein, President of SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Los Angeles said:

"We have received various sources of complaints throughout the day. Some said that Britney’s Yorkie dog was injured and had a cast on, and some said the dog had a broken leg and was not treated. After the calls started pouring in, we did go to Britney’s house today [on Mulholland Drive] but were just able to leave a note with the housekeeper. The matter is not if the dog had an accident, but if the dog is getting proper care."

Britney probably ran the dog over when she pulled into the garage at 90 MPH, as she was trying to outrun the paparazzi. I guess I should just be thankful she didn’t run over Sean or Jayden, this time.

OK! magazine says that Linsday Lohan may have bought beer at a Utah grocery store last night:

This morning on Utah’s 97.1 FM, an anonymous called to report a Lindsay Lohan sighting. But unlike recent outings to Target for sunglasses or to the gym to work out, this time the beleaguered actress was seen purchasing alcohol! According to the caller, Lindsay, 21, and a large, older gentleman, possibly a bodyguard, entered a Maverik convenience store in Orem, Utah, last night (Aug. 21) and purchased some Miller Lite. When approached by fans for an autograph, Lindsay’s companion replied, "This is not a good time."

Lindsay was surrounded by, and followed by the paparazzi who would have gladly bought the beer for her, and said nothing, so this story is B.S. Wait a minute, wasn’t one of the paps a large older gentleman? Is he the same one who had his pants around his ankles, and a blond pony tail bobbing in and out of his crotch, minutes before he bought that beer? If you call a radio station claiming a cocaine loving celebrity bought a rot gut beer like Miller Lite, then you just might be a red neck, or you might just be the next witness for the prosecution in Lindsay’s DUI case.

On August 16 I reported that Jessica Alba was filming a remake of a Chinese ghost movie called The Eye. I just happened to be in Vancouver, B.C. this past weekend. I visited Chinatown on 8-18, and after driving through the Chinatown gate I immediately saw the movie set for the eye on the corner of West Pender Street and Carrall Street. Security there told me they were filming The Eye with Jessica Alba, and they didn’t want any pictures taken by anyone. There were no paparazzi allowed. Good thing I was just an innocent tourist, and even so it was tough to get any pictures.

The first nine pictures are of the the movie set which shows a burned out Chinese shop that looks real. People walking by made up stories about it saying things like the building had been burned out like that for 20 years, even though it was built just for filming that night. Staff said they would be shooting all night until 5 am. The filming took place just down the street from where 21 Jump Street with Johnny Depp was filmed.

They kept Jessica near a black tent during filming, and blocked off foot traffic with police far enough to make a good shot of her impossible during filming. Just around the corner right under the China gate sign was a parking lot with an iron fence around it. While walking by I noticed Jessica was standing beside a white van in slippers and a sweater. I snapped the picture above of her, then staff immediately rushed her into the van. They didn’t give any other opportunity for a good shot of her after that.

Pictures 11 and 12 show the set the next day on 8-19. That fake burned out building turned out to have just been the parking lot for Jack Chow Insurance. It looked so real.

Lily Allen was arrested on June 28 for assaulting a paparazzi. The United States doesn’t like letting known criminals into the country so they revoked her work visa. Here’s how Lily responded:

"She has no idea why she was singled out for such treatment and found the whole experience distressing."

"I am trying everything I can to sort this situation out," Allen said. "I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America in September. I don’t like letting my fans down and this is a situation that I am sure we can sort."

"It is my intention to play my American dates in September. This depends on the authorities granting me a new work visa. I want my fans to know that I will do everything I can to be back in America," she added.

I’m so disappointed Lily can’t get back into America. Now the streets are safer because criminals like her aren’t roaming around drunk attacking people who try to take her picture.

Britney Spears was parking at the Studio City vitamin store yesterday, with her dog in her lap, when out of no where a parked car ran right into her bumper. Britney screamed, "I’m a brainiac!" Those parked cars are a real menace. They load up on ethanol, then they get right in your way. Britney hates paparazzi, but she still asked, "Did I hurt my car?" She got out and inspected the damage on her car, then drove away without leaving a note on the parked car. Britney did keep her cool after the parked car hit her. At least she didn’t pull the umbrella out of her trunk, and beat that car into a small metal cube, but she did hit the car again when she opened her car door. Stupid parked cars.
