Oprah Winfrey Not Gay PR Backfires
Oprah Winfrey may have denied last week that she and best friend Gayle King were gay to the entire world to try and squelch rumors, but the plan may have backfired. |
Vince Vaughn and His Future with Jen
Playing on the tabloid rumor that Oprah Winfrey was going to throw an $8-million wedding for Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, the comic-actor thanked the talk-show queen on Wednesday for her “very nice gesture” and noted, “I’m expecting a pretty good band for $8 million.” Even though Aniston and Winfrey shot down the report about the expensive wedding last month, Winfrey told Vaughn on her program Wednesday: “One of the things I asked Jennifer is, will $8 million be enough?” “Yeah”, said Vaughn, rolling his eyes for comic effect. “Come on.” As for living with such rumors since being linked to Aniston, Vaughn shrugged and said: “I just don’t pay much attention to that stuff. I find it to be really ridiculous.” Still, for the record, Vaughn and Aniston do not intend to walk down the aisle soon, he said. But he did say of Aniston, who co-stars with him in the new romantic comedy The Break Up, “Jennifer’s great. She’s one of my favorite people.” “She’s one of mine, too,” interjected Winfrey. “She’s just really smart and funny and easy to be with, very considerate,” persisted Vaughn. “She’s great.” When asked about starting a family Vaughn said he’d like to have children “at some point” – just not quite yet. “I think (having children) takes a lot of focus, takes a lot of attention. I think it would be nice at some point to have a different priority. I think that time would come, but not any time in the near future for me.” Just in case anyone is wondering: “No, I have not talked about having kids with Jennifer,” he said. “First we have to have the $8 million wedding.” Vaughn doesn’t seem too comfortable being in the tabloid spotlight. He just might be afraid of being famous in that way. On the surface Vaughn and Jennifer seem like they get along well, but I don’t see sparks flying.

Teri Hatcher in Tears on Oprah

Teri Hatcher in tears as dead teen’s mom pays tribute to her.
Teri Hatcher was left in floods of tears on a recent taping of US talk show
Oprah Winfrey when the mother of a teen suicide sent her a special thank you
message for coming forward to help jail the dead girl’s molester.
Here’s a brief summary of Teri on Oprah yesterday where she also talked about how Ryan Seacrest dumped her:
Teri: “It was our third date, but it was our first alone. We went to this shacky
place, way way outside of L.A…â€
Oprah: “How did the paparazzi get there?â€
Teri: I have no idea, but interestingly enough I haven’t seen him since that
day.â€
Oprah: “Not a word since then? What did he say? What did he say when the
pictures came out?â€
Teri: “The pictures came out three days later. We knew they had been taken. It
must’ve bothered him though — bothered him enough that an hour after they were
taken he called and said ‘I don’t think I can do this with you.’â€
Oprah: “He did? Why?â€
Teri: “I don’t know.â€
Oprah: “Was it because you were too high profile?â€
Teri: “It was because I ate too much lobster. [laughs] No you’d have to ask
him.â€
The Desperate Housewives star agreed to secretly testify against her own uncle,
who had molested her 30 years before, when she heard he’d been named as the
cause of 14-year-old Sarah Van Cleemput’s suicide.
Hatcher’s timely testimony in 2002 came just two days before Richard Hayes Stone
was due to walk free. Instead, after the actress came forward, he pleaded guilty
to four counts of child molestation and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Van Cleemput’s family never knew of the identity of the woman who helped jail
the child molester, whose actions prompted Sarah to shoot herself, until Hatcher
called them in March (2006) on the eve of the release of a Vanity Fair article,
in which she revealed everything.
Hatcher welled up on Oprah as she recalled the emotional chat she had with Van
Cleemput’s mother Ingrid, who referred to the actress’ brave decision to come
forward as "the miracle we had been waiting for".
One question: If Teri talks about testifying publicly now, then why did she have to testify secretly at the trial?

Hatcher Denies Romance with Clooney

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has slammed tabloid reports about her love life, insisting she only had one date with actor George Clooney, and claiming her reported romance with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest is a “non-story”. Hatcher appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show today (MAY 2, 2006) to set the record straight on all of the rumors surrounding her personal life.
Terri explained the tabloids blew her relationship with Clooney out of proportion saying, “That was really fabricated. We went to one dinner back in December (2005), and that was it. No kissing. “Boy, they would not let go of that one! I read things about how he sent me a teddy bear and chocolates for Valentine’s Day, and I’m in my mailbox going, ‘Did he really?’ Because I didn’t get them. “Now they actually refer to him as my ex-boyfriend. It’s hilarious.”
The actress also talked about tabloid pictures showing her kissing American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on a beach in Malibu, California, in March (2006). Hatcher claims the two were set up by a mutual friend, and after two group dinners, they met for lunch at an out-of-the-way location. She said, “It’s such a non-story. Interestingly enough, I haven’t seen him since that day. We knew that the (pictures) had been taken, which must have bothered him enough. “An hour after he dropped me off, he called to say, ‘I don’t think I can do this with you.’ All the things you read in the tabloids about me and men are really non-stories.”
I have a suggestion, how about setting Teri up with Bruce Willis.
