OJ Simpson to Tell All

Proving that it is possible to sell a soul twice (if not be tried for the same crime twice), O.J. Simpson is doing a television special on Fox with the clunky lawyer-approved title O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened.

In the two-part series, which will promote his new book If I Did It, Simpson discusses how, hypothetically, he could have killed his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, who were murdered in 1994.

The former Heisman trophy winner was tried for the murders and acquitted in 1994, but later found liable for the deaths by in a wrongful-death suit filed by the Goldman family.

"This is an historic case, and I consider this his confession," Judith Regan, whose imprint Regan Books is publishing the book, told the Associated Press.

The Fox Web site has a preview of the show which is not a real premium confession, but more of a hypothetical “from concentrate” sort of affair in which OJ waters down his sentences with phrases like “might have” and “could have.” In the trailer, the former Heisman trophy winner says, “I don’t think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood,” before breaking down in tears. The clip shows him later declaring in a choked voice, “I can’t do no more of this!” as he gathers his things.

But the clip stops just short of what O.J. actually said which was, “I can’t do no more of this…because I tee-off in a half hour and I’ll be damned if the memory of my hypothetical murder victims is gonna come between me and my links.”
