Nicole Kidman did not directly deny being pregnant. Her rep denied the report saying:

"It is incorrect," the spokeswoman tells the paper. "She must have had about 30 babies by now. She’s in Australia making a film," director Baz Luhrman’s epic Australia, co-starring Hugh Jackman, "and her family are in Australia. She’s happily ensconced away somewhere having a few days break. It’s the silly season. As far as we’re concerned, it’s another rumor out of London."

I thought that movie had completed shooting a long time ago, which is why Nicole was able to film The Golden Compass.

An unnamed friend told the Herald Sun it is "conceivable" that the actress is nearly three months pregnant.

"She did have a small baby bump a month ago, so it would be reasonable that she’d now be three months and telling her friends and family."

Rumor or baby on the way? We’ll see.

Nicole Kidman (40) has announced she is pregnant. Nicole, and her husband of 18 months Keith Urban, announced the news of Nicole’s pregnancy to their families over the Christmas holiday. Although Nicole is not yet showing a baby bump, it is most likely the baby will be born in the Spring or Summer. Shortly after splitting with Tom Cruise, Nicole revealed she had suffered an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage while married to Tom. Ectopic pregnancies usually occur in the right fallopian tube, and because the fetus is growing in the fallopian tube, surgery is often required to remove that part of the tube. After the surgery, it can be very difficult to get pregnant. This is practically a Christmas miracle.

Nicole is due to film The Reader with Ralph Fiennes and British director Stephen Daldry in Berlin next month, but has no more cinema work planned after that. The timing is perfect since Tom is just wrapping up his filming in Germany.

Hopefully Nicole’s biological child will call her mommy, and Keith will stay sober. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Nicole Kidman says her father, Anthony, stood by her during the time following her divorce from Tom Cruise.

"When I went through… what I went through… I found out who my father was," she tells Britain’s Catholic Herald.

"Because there comes a time when you’re a daughter, that you suddenly need your father. And when you reach out for your father and he’s there for you, well, that’s a very special thing," the Aussie actress recalls of the turbulent time after her 2001 divorce.

"My father really stood by me at a tough time. He was strong and dignified, and I’m very grateful that I do have a good father, because having him there with me at that time put me in good stead for carrying on with my life and learning to trust again."

While Nicole shares joint custody of her adopted children Bella and Connor, now 15 and 12, with Tom Cruise, and she admits the kids prefer to live with Tom. Last week Katie Holmes revealed that Bella and Connor call her "Mom," while Nicole has admitted that they address her by her first name.

In 2006, Nicole married country singer Keith Urban in a Catholic ceremony in Australia. Today Keith has to keep listening to stories about how difficult things have been since Nicole and Tom split. Does Nicole have anything else to talk about other than things related to Tom Cruise?

In Parade magazine, Katie Holmes reveals that Tom Cruise’s adopted children call her “Mom. His first two children are incredible, really smart and kind,” Katie says. “They call me ‘Mom.’” This revelation comes a month after Nicole admitted that Connor, 12, and Isabella (who turns 15 on Saturday) call her by her first name.

"My kids don’t call me Mommy, they don’t even call me Mom,” the The Golden Compass star Nicole Kidman told U.K. TV show GMTV in November. “They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it."

Nicole tells her kids off? Maybe that’s why they don’t call her mom.

Suri helped Mom ring in her 29th birthday on Tuesday with a little furniture shopping in Hollywood. Katie tells Parade that she’s looking forward to baking with her 20-month-old at the family compound in Telluride, Colorado, over Christmas.

“We always make a lot of sugar cookies with decorating and sprinkles,” she says. “Suri will be in the dough everywhere. Tom has shown me the greatness of extra chocolate chips.”

The Mad Money actress also confesses that she doesn’t like being away from the littlest Cruise. ”She’s very aware,” Katie says. “This summer, when Tom was working in Germany, she’d wake up and say, ‘Hello, Berlin.’”

In the meantime, Katie continues to enjoy her new (literally) high-flying lifestyle. “I have done things I never thought I would do, like climbing mountains and flying in the P-51 [a World War II fighter]. That’s what is so inspiring about being with him — constant thrills and joy.”

She adds: “I mean, what we do in a week is extraordinary.”

Tom knows the secret to keeping a young bride happy is to keep life with him as stimulating as possible.

I saw The Golden Compass last night so I could give HG readers my review. Here’s the report card:

Acting: B

Special Effects: C

Story: F-

The Golden Compass cost around $190 million, and despite a lot of effort nothing could fix a story so poorly written I began to beg for the movie to end about 15 minutes into it. Whoever wrote this story forgot how to write. There were many odd moments, especially the ending that made everyone say, "huh? That’s it?" Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman gave their usual great performances, but neither the acting nor the very expensive special effects could save a movie that had a horribly written story. This movie is not worth watching, not even on DVD. The studio plans to make a second and third sequel, which will certainly mean bankruptcy for them unless they find a much better group of writers.

Update: No one is bashing Nicole Kidman’s acting in this movie. The books are probably really good, but the script writers who translated the books onto the movie screen did a terrible job, which means the movie’s story line sucked big time. The only way to fix that is to get better script writers to translate the book’s storyline better like was done in Lord of the Rings for example. I don’t need to read the book, or books, to see that the movie script is terrible, and doesn’t even follow what is accepted practice for writing a three act movie. The sad part is that many are trying to blame this on Nicole Kidman because she’s a big star. The only thing that was Nicole’s fault was accepting the part in this movie. I can only assume she didn’t read every last detail of the script. The scenes would cut off when you knew the characters should have done a few more things, or said a few more things, before the scene ended. Other events were not even explained. Terrible script, which unfortunately, and unfairly, has a negative reflection on the books.
