Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon made it legal when they got marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera. The marriage license is legal anywhere in the world.

Mariah cancelled her appearance on The View for this coming Monday, and even though she gave no explanation, she is obviously on her honeymoon.

Mariah Carey was married secretly to Nick Cannon, but some are now worried because she didn’t have Cannon sign a pre-nup. The New York Post reports:

Carey married little-screen actor Nick Cannon at the home Carey just bought in Eleuthera, the Bahamas, a source close to the singer said.

"They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks," the friend said. "And she’s always had a crush on him."

"There was no pre-nup – there wasn’t time," said another worried source.

E! News got confirmation from a Cannon family member that in fact the couple did get legally married, and the whole thing wasn’t just some publicity stunt:

Family member Linda Cannon has confirmed to E! News that the couple are, in fact, married.

"Yes, we know," she says. "He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him."

Linda Cannon wouldn’t confirm an earlier report that had the impromptu nuptials taking place yesterday at Carey’s new home in the Bahamas, only that Nick and his platinum-selling girlfriend have made it official.

"I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him."

This sure took a lot of negative attention away from Miley Cyrus.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are reported to have got married on an island yesterday. A source said it was "very impulsive." We only reported they were engaged yesterday. Nick didn’t even have time to buy a new engagement ring, instead he gave Mariah the one he also gave to his ex fiance. CHEAP!

Now Nick can afford to buy Mariah some flowers, and more jewelry with HER money.

We’re hoping Mariah got a pre-nup, or that maybe the island wedding wasn’t binding, like Eddie Murphy’s not long ago.

The other day Mariah was talking about being on a diet to stay slim, so it’s doubtful that she’s pregnant, but you never know. Maybe Mariah and Beyonce will have a baby around the same time.

Mariah Carey (38) and Nick Cannon (27) have confirmed to Access Hollywood that they are engaged to be married.

Mariah was previously married to record executive Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998. This will be Nick’s first marriage, and second engagement.

Mariah’s engagement ring was previously on Nick’s former fiance’s finger, Vctoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, in 2007. Same ring, different girl. Nick doesn’t want his investment going to waste.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were spotted on Monday night taking a private jet to Las Vegas together. The pair attended Da Brat’s birthday at Prive. Carey wore dark sunglasses the whole night, and drank a Dom Rose.

Meanwhile, Dina Lohan was drinking Ketel One Vodka until 4:45 am in the Living Room next door. She’s such a good mom. She probably found a really hot baby sitter for Ali and Cody.
