Mischa Barton was approached by the producers of Gossip Girl to appear on the show in the recurring role of Georgina Sparks, who is a scheme queen who brings Serena’s checkered past screaming into her present. Great way to ruin the show that I never watch.

In court today, Mischa Barton’s DUI case was continued until April 10. Mischa is cutting a deal with the Los Angeles D.A. Rather than a felony, the marijuana charge will be dropped, she will have to attend an alcohol awareness class (not rehab or AA), and since there were no mention of the pills she had in her possession it can be assumed that is thrown out too, along with no jail time. Mischa was driving without a license also, and the naturalized U.S. citizen is working to get her license now. Celebrity justice once again.

The L.A. District Attorney is charging Mischa Barton with four misdemeanor counts which include, driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08% or higher, driving without a license and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. There are retarded people who wouldn’t have done something this stupid. Barton is probably expecting a slap on the wrist, and less than one day in jail. It pays to be a celebrity.

Mischa Barton gave an interview On Air with Ryan Seacrest this morning, in which she talked about her DUI, just like Paris Hilton did. Mischa said:

"I got a DUI when I was back in LA." (on December 27) "I was pulled over. Obviously, I am 100 percent responsible for my actions, and I am really disappointed in myself. I am not perfect, and I don’t ever intend to do something that stupid again."

The Mischa Barton family rep on Wednesday blasted a tabloid report that the actress’s sister was hospitalized for a drug overdose.

"Mischa understands that as an actress and a public person she needs to address her issues in a timely and appropriate manner. That being said, she’s the only public person in her family and we will not address these sleazy, tabloid reports," rep Howard Bragman said. "I think these pieces of s— who work at hospitals and sell private information are not only breaking the law, but they’re morally reprehensible. They’re selling people’s private information for the price of dinner for four at Lawry’s. And I hope they choke on their prime rib."

The National Enquirer reported today that 19-year-old Hania Barton was hospitalized over the holidays after overdosing on a muscle relaxer.

Tomorrow morning Mischa is scheduled to be on the Ryan Seacrest radio show, like Paris Hilton, to talk about her DUI, and now her sister too. Mischa probably isn’t afraid of getting any jail time after she’s seen how celebrities with DUIs have been treated this past year. That’s probably why she isn’t in rehab.
