Some are promoting the video above as Mike Huckabee suggesting that someone tried to assassinate Barack Obama with a gun.

My take on the video was that Huckabee said "someone aimed a gun at him [Obama], and he dove for the floor," which is something a coward might do. It was supposed to be a joke, and Huckabee was speaking at the National Rifle Association, whose members would think coward because Obama didn’t stand and fight like a real man. That’s how I saw it. How did you see it?

I should add, that the "joke" was not only in bad taste, but totally inappropriate when talking about a Presidential candidate. It was statements like this that caused Huckabee to lose support as a presidential candidate in the Republican party.

Update: Huckabee apologized:

"During my speech at the NRA, a loud noise backstage that sounded like a chair falling distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an offhand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama. I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention."
