Sheriff charged with using inmates as sex slaves
Back in the 1960s they took real students, and made some jail guards, and others prisoners for a psychology experiment. After only a few days the prisoners became depressed, hopeless, and submitted to the guards. The guards became cruel, mocked the prisoners, and sometimes took advantage of their authority. Knowing about this study, the story today of a sheriff who used inmates as sex slaves comes as no surprise. This is one of the few crimes committed by prison officials we know about.
