Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have purchased a legendary home in the Hollywood Hills that is considered by many to be a modern architectural masterpiece. The $2.3 million home was once owned by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and has been dubbed the Treehouse. It has sweeping views and celebrity neighbors including Kirsten Dunst and Matthew McConaughey.

The couple, who have a nine-month-old daughter, Matilda, currently live in a Brooklyn, New York, town house and recently sold their beach front home in Sydney, Australia, because the paparazzi could see into the front of the glass structure. The pair won’t have that problem at their new home, according to Coldwell Banker real estate broker Valerie Fitzgerald, “Nobody can see into the property.”

Ledger appears to have had a change of heart when it comes to bringing up his family in Los Angeles. Last year, he said he moved his family to New York because, “I didn’t want to raise my child in Hollywood.”

Ledger has been looking more and more like a street bum, with his unkempt hair, long scraggly beard, and wrinkled clothes. Ledger is reminding me of Howard Hughes towards his final days.

Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams grabbed some lunch in New York. Heath looked like a bum living on the street begging for change. I didn’t recognize him at first. I just thought he was some guy asking some girl for some change. Can’t he afford a shower? I’ve seen drug addicts cleaner than him.

Last week, we told you that Howard Stern had beef with Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams after the they snubbed him and girlfriend Beth Ostrosky during a run-in at Nobu. According to the New York Post, Ledger called Stern to make up after the radio jock complained about the incident on his show.

“Michelle and I were in a very deep conversation about something in our personal life. I was admittedly a little out of it. I apologize if we came off horribly,” Ledger told Stern. Maybe they were discussing Michelle’s dad, Larry Williams, who was recently busted on charges of international tax evasion?

No word as to what Ledger thought of Stern dissing his wife last week on his Sirius radio show, saying, “I caught the vibe she wanted to f–k my old ass [when she was a guest on the show four years ago]. I think I coulda taken that tail at 21.”

I think I could’ve taken that tail at 21.”
