Michael Phelps Car Accident

Michael Phelps was involved in a car accident on August 13. Police said they did not administer a sobriety test, because Phelps did not appear intoxicated, and police added Phelps was not at fault for the accident.

Michael Phelps told police that he drank a beer about an hour and 15 minutes before he was involved in an accident last week, but alcohol wasn’t the reason for the incident, according to a police source. A police source said:

"No alcohol was involved. No drugs. It was just a car accident."

Investigators found that the Accord’s driver, Amanda E. Virkus, was at fault for the crash. She will be cited for failure to obey a red light, and for causing an accident.

Phelps will be cited for driving with an invalid, out-of-state license. When police arrived on scene following the accident, Phelps presented an invalid Michigan drivers license. According to a police source, the Michigan license was no good because Phelps did not pay an earlier fine for not showing proof of insurance. The police source said:

"It looks like he didn’t pay a reinstatement fee, and the license was suspended."

Could have been worse. Could have been another DUI.

Michael Phelps Threesome Stripper Theresa White Without Clothes On

News of the World reports stripper Theresa White (25) had a threesome with Michael Phelps after she suggested it. White says Phelps picked another girl to join them. White said:

"Everybody else stayed put while we went upstairs and jumped into bed."

"When I ran into another girl called Jen at a party it turned out he was sleeping with both of us and I’ve heard that there are at least five or six girls he can call on any time."

"The sex lasted for about three hours… Michael should get another Olympic gold for marathon love-making."

White said he had become "paranoid" about anything hurting his career after pictures of him smoking marijuana out of a bong were published in February, leading to his ban from swimming:

"Since the story got out I’ve seen him tell friends that he’ll throw their mobile camera phones in the river if he sees them using them around him."

White also says Phelps is a momma’s boy who likes to party:

"He’s a person I can just hook up with and it doesn’t bother me, but I don’t see a future between us. His mother would never approve."

"What she thinks really matters to him. She’s so strait-laced and they’d both be concerned that someone like me would hurt his career."

"Michael’s definitely a Momma’s boy. He talks about her a lot, and he calls her and texts her a lot. She’s probably the most important person in his life. It’s hard to compete."

"But Michael is a young guy who likes to have fun. He might not be doing marijuana any more but he sure likes to party. That’ll never change."

There’s nothing wrong with having a close relationship with your mother, especially when you’re surrounded by back stabbing gold diggers.

Michael Phelps Will Not Be Charged with Marijuana Possession

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said that after a full investigation into the November party at which Michael Phelps was photographed, touching off a controversy that led to a three-month ban, there was not enough evidence to charge anyone, including Phelps. Unfortunately the 8 people that were already will now have an arrest on their record.

Bong gate is over. Phelps released this relieved response:

"I’m glad this matter is put to rest, but there are also some important lessons that I’ve learned. For me, it’s all about recognizing that I used bad judgment and it’s a mistake I won’t make again."

A DUI in 2004, and smoking marijuana from a bong in November of 2008. Phelps has an addictive personality, but he hasn’t recognized that yet, so it’s a safe bet he’ll repeat that mistake again after the next Olympics.

Michael Phelps Apology to Chinese Fans

Michael Phelps apologized to fans from China over his bong scandal.

Why couldn’t he have simply sent the message to ALL fans from all over the world?

Since Phelps chose to send the message only to Chinese fans, why didn’t he deliver the message in Mandarin Chinese? Phelps did a commercial promoting Rosetta Stone. Guess he wasn’t really using the product to learn Mandarin, but rather, was just pretending. If he can’t learn from Rosetta Stone, the best language learning software in the world, how can anyone expect him to learn his lesson about drugs and alcohol when he’s done it twice now, a 2004 DUI, and smoking marijuana in 2008?

The only way Phelps can hope to learn his lesson is if he goes to a drug rehab program to understand his addictive behavior, otherwise his apologies are just empty words with no action to back them up.

Eight Arrested in Phelps Bong Gate

Sheriff Leon Lott was criticized for going after Michael Phelps for smoking marijuana out of a bong. Now he expanded the legal investigation which led to the arrests of eight people, seven for drug possession, and one for distribution. Phelps himself has not yet been arrested.

Governor Mark Sanford commented on the sheriff’s actions on the FOX News Channel Sunday night. Geraldo Rivera asked Sanford whether Phelps should be prosecuted, and Sanford said:

"I don’t see what it gets at this point."

We do, equal justice, rather than celebrity justice. If they aren’t going to arrest Phelps, then don’t arrest anyone except maybe the bong owner who was trying to sell the bong on Ebay for $100,000.

Lil Wayne Does the Letterman Top Ten List

Wayne must have ran out of weed before the show. Maybe Michael Phelps can hook him up.

Michael Phelps Suspended from Swimming

Michael Phelps had it rough last week. Phelps has been suspended from competition for three months from USA Swimming. On Thursday evening, USA Swimming released the following statement:

"USA Swimming has reprimanded Michael Phelps under its Code of Conduct by withdrawing financial support and the eligibility to compete for a period of three months effective today, Feb. 5, 2009."

"This is not a situation where any anti-doping rule was violated, but we decided to send a strong message to Michael because he disappointed so many people, particularly the hundreds of thousands of USA Swimming member kids who look up to him as a role model and a hero."

Phelps has voluntarily accepted this reprimand and "has committed to earn back our trust."

Cereal maker Kellogg’s says they are not renewing the swimmer’s contract when it expires at the end of this month. In a statement on Thursday night, they said:

"We originally built the relationship with Michael, as well as the other Olympic athletes, to support our association with the U.S. Olympic team. Michael’s most recent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg. His contract expires at the end of February and we have made a decision not to extend his contract."

Other sponsors are still supporting Phelps.

Fellow Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz, whose gold medal record Phelps broke, said:

"As strictly a fan, I feel badly for Michael and the situation he has put himself in. I think no one would wish this on anyone, especially the person that gave us a summer like no other in 2008."

Phelps himself said:

"It’s obviously bad judgment and it’s something I’m not proud of at all. I will say that with the mistakes that I’ve made in my life, I’ve learned from them. Every one of them. And I’ve become a better person. That’s what I plan to do from here."

"In his first interview since the bong picture surfaced, Phelps denied being a regular user and added, "This was stupid, and I know this won’t happen again."

Phelps also lost his Kellogg’s endorsement, but many of Phelps’ teammates and colleagues have come to the 23-year-old’s defense.

His coach Bob Bowman said:

"Michael’s been through a lot and he’s learned a lot, hopefully. I support him and I want to see him do better. I’m here, as always, to try to help him move forward. He’s learned some tough lessons and he’s disappointed a lot of people, me included."

41-year-old silver medalist, Dara Torres, whom Phelps jokingly nicknamed "Mom," said:

"I see him as a kid trying to grow up in the most intense spotlight known to any athlete. He has apologized and what else can he do?. The thing I hope is that people realize Michael is still a person and not just a swimming hero," adding, "He didn’t let the USA down at the games, so we shouldn’t let him down."

Fellow swimmer Amanda Beard, who received criticism after posing without clothes on in Playboy, was a little more direct, saying:

"If anyone knows public scrutiny, it’s me. When I posed for Playboy, so many officials looked down on me. Michael knows he isn’t a bad person. He made a mistake. People need to get over it. I want to cheer him on in London."

Rival agent Evan Morgenstein said:

"Enough is enough. The penalty is far greater than the crime. He has said he is sorry. Let’s move on to the real problems in this country."

Is the penalty greater than the crime? Considering this isn’t the first "mistake" Phelps has made like this the answer is NO.

Back in November of 2004 Phelps was pulled over for a DUI by a Maryland State Police trooper.

The trooper pulled Phelps over after he failed to halt at a stop sign, the Baltimore Sun reports. (Phelps, who made a splash at the Athens Summer Games, is a Baltimore County resident) He was arrested and later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, violation of a license restriction and failure to obey a traffic-control device.

Two other passengers were in the car with Phelps when he was stopped in his 2005 Land Rover. It’s the height of irresponsibility to drink and drive with passengers in the car.

After his DUI arrest in 2004 Phelps said:

"Last week, I made a mistake. Getting in a car with anything to drink is wrong, dangerous and unacceptable. I’m 19 but was taught no matter how old you are, you should always take responsibility for your actions, which I will do."

That statement sounds almost identical to the one Phelps made about his bong photo. He clearly hasn’t learned his lesson, and is likely to repeat his drug and alcohol use again. At this point Phelps should consider counseling for his addictive behavior before he really screws up his life and career even more.

Michael Phelps Apologizes for Bong Picture

Michael Phelps has admitted he was smoking pot with a bong in the picture above. Phelps says his behavior was both "regrettable", and "bad judgment." He is right. As much as some people try to excuse smoking weed, or marijuana, it is still an ILLEGAL drug that could get him banned from swimming for four years, and swimming is his whole life as well as his career.

Phelps said in a statement:

"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

… or until temptation, or his Attention Deficit Disorder, kicks in again.

Once Phleps made history by winning all those gold medals he had the possibility to ink and estimated $100 million dollars in endorsement deals. Many of those deals are based on Phelps image as a good example that other people, especially kids, can aspire to be like. No one in the business world believes that a pot smoking, alcohol guzzling, whore loving, party boy, even at the age of 23, is a good example they would want promoting their products, nor do they want a recovering drug addict. Phelps out of control behavior that led to this picture, may have both redefined how the world sees him, and could cost him a lot of money in endorsement deals, and could get him banned from participating in swimming, which could cost him his career. With success comes great responsibility to live up to your image, and set a good example.

With all the drama now surrounding Phelps, he is certain to at least get another book deal, and will be the most watched athlete if he is allowed to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

A picture of Michael Phelps smoking what appears to be pot, aka marijuana, out of a bong was posted by News of the World. The 14 gold medals Phelps won has allowed him to make a lot of endorsement deals, but after this picture those deals may be gone.

Phelps doesn’t have anything to fall back on if he is banned from swimming because of drug use. After seeing Phelps spending so much time in Las Vegas with so many whores, and apparently drinking every night, we’re not at all surprised to see him still "out of control."

THIS is the astonishing picture which could destroy the career of the greatest competitor in Olympic history.

In our exclusive photo Michael Phelps, who won a record EIGHT gold medals for swimming at the Beijing games last summer, draws from a bong.

The glass pipes are generally used to smoke cannabis.

And after sporting chiefs announced laws which mean four-year bans for drug-taking, Phelps’ dreams of adding to his overall 14 gold medal tally at the 2012 games in London could already be OVER.

Those dreams seemed the last thing on his mind when he puffed from the bong during two days of partying with students last November, a quiet time in the swimming calendar when athletes would not expect to get tested for drugs.

One party-goer who witnessed the star’s behaviour told the News of the World: “He was out of control from the moment he got there.

“If he continues to party like that I’d be amazed if he ever won any more medals again.”

Phelps’ aides went into a panic over our story and offered us a raft of extraordinary incentives not to run the bong picture.

It was on November 6, weeks after his Beijing triumph, that 23-year-old Phelps surprised students at the University Of South Carolina in Columbia by showing up unannounced at a house party.

He was visiting Jordan Matthews, a girl he was secretly seeing who was a student there.

Our source revealed: “Michael came to visit Jordan but ended up just getting wasted every night.

“He arrived with a group of girls hanging all over him. Jaws hit the floor when he walked in. You don’t get many celebrities in Columbia, so when Phelps comes to your party it’s a very big deal.

“He didn’t know many people so you’d think he’d be a little shy. But he was loud, obnoxious and slamming beers from the get-go.

“Every girl wanted a piece of him and every guy wanted to be his best buddy. He couldn’t get enough of all the attention.”

As he basked in his hero status, Phelps knocked back beers and shots of spirits. And when a student offered him the glass bong engraved with red writing, he did not hesitate, says our source.

The 6ft 4ins athlete, in a white T-shirt and navy cap worn back to front, clasped the device in his huge hands and inhaled deeply.

Our source said: “You could tell Michael had smoked before. He grabbed the bong and a lighter and knew exactly what to do.

“He looked just as natural with a bong in his hands as he does swimming in the pool. He was the gold medal winner of bong hits. Michael ended up getting a little paranoid, though, because before too long he looked like he was nervous and ran out of the place.”

But the next night, Phelps was out partying again. The source added: “He was right back at it at Pavlov’s bar.

“Like the night before he was holding court, throwing back shots two at a time and pouring drinks to every cute girl.”

Drink has got Phelps into trouble before. In 2004, aged 19, he got 18 months probation for driving while under the influence.

His wild behaviour is in stark contrast to the grim regime which took him to the top of his sport.

He once described his life, saying: “All you do is eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim; eat, sleep, swim.”

Last night Phelps’ management team and the sporting world closed ranks over the scandal.

The US Olympics Committee, who have pledged to clamp down on drug use, refused to comment, as did USA Swimming and Phelps’ coach Bob Bowman.

More surprising still was the World Anti-Doping Agency’s refusal to comment, given that they introduced the four-year ban on sport’s drug users.

Phelps, who earned £4million last year in endorsements, has resumed training for the 2012 games.

But there were fears about his commitment when, weeks after the bong incident, he began dating former stripper Caroline Pal.

Phelps is represented by marketing giant Octagon, which works with huge brands such as Mastercard and HSBC. They admitted proven cannabis use would be “a major taint” on Phelps’ character.

Spokesman Clifford Bloxham offered us an extraordinary deal not to publish our story, saying Phelps would become our columnist for three years, host events and get his sponsors to advertise with us.

In return, he asked that we kill Phelps’ bong picture. Bloxham said: “It’s seeing if something potentially very negative for Michael could turn into something very positive for the News of the World.”

He stressed that the swimmer had taken 1,500 drug tests and never failed one.
