The New York Daily News said yesterday that Lindsay Lohan is spending her time in rehab daydreaming about reviving her music … umm … "career" (?). Rush and Malloy say:

Insiders say Lohan has let Universal Music execs know she’s ready to deliver the third album she owes. But do they want it?

Guided by Casablanca label head Tommy Mottola, Lohan recorded the 2004 CD "Speak," which sold a respectable 1.6 million copies here and abroad. Her 2005 followup, "A Little More Personal," did more than 600,000 units.

Mottola had been after Lohan to get back into the studio, but she didn’t have time with all the movies she was making. Then came her two DUI arrests and a charge of cocaine possession. Amid reports that insurance companies were afraid to bond her pictures, her schedule freed up.

But lately, relations between Mottola and Lohan are said to have cooled. (He didn’t return our calls.) And others at Universal Music are approaching her cautiously.

"As much as she wants to make another album," says one insider, "the feeling is she needs to get herself cleaned up. Then we can talk about it."

For an industry that prides itself on sex, drugs, and violence, they do have a bottom line which involves making money. Lohan’s first record was due to her previous success as a child actress, the second dropped to about 1/3 of the first album’s sales. Lohan’s third album would probably sell as many as Paris Hilton. Lohan’s movies don’t make money either. Lohan should just give up on Hollywood and join the circus where she fits in.

Yesterday Michael and Dina Lohan came to an agreement in their divorce:

Though the terms of the agreement were not disclosed, state Supreme Court Justice Robert A. Ross reportedly told the Lohans, ‘You have both demonstrated to me extraordinarily good judgment in resolving this matter as you did.’ Despite today’s events, the Lohans will be in family court on Sept. 6 to determine a custody and visitation agreement for their underage children, 13-year-old Aliana and 11-year-old Dakota.

I feel for the judge. Imagine trying to decide between Dina who has been pictured drinking and doing drugs with Lindsay, and Michael who has been in jail for the past 2 years on a DUI charge. He might as well give the kids to a pack of wolves. I guess it could be worse. The kids could have been raised by Jihad loving parents, who strap bomb belts on the kids and tell them to go out and make them proud.

When Lindsay was at Promises she went roller blading and bicycling on the beach, then relapsed only 11 days later. Now she’s at the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah where she stays busy by hiking, bicycling, and whitewater-rafting. On August 16 she went for a 90-minute bike ride around Orem, and the next day she went rafting on the Provo River dressed in a pirate bandanna. She was also seen shopping at an Abercrombie and Fitch store and at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory where she picked up $70 worth of chocolates.

If you didn’t know Lindsay was a drunk and a drug addict in need of rehab, you might get the justified impression that Promises and Cirque Lodge were either summer camps or spas. They probably smoke pot around the camp fire, and eat pot brownies all day, to keep their clients more relaxed during their stay. At a real rehab they’d lock you in your room after searching it, wake you up with a fire hose, lock you in a box for 2 days in the hot sun outside if you misbehave, make you exercise, and learn how to take care of yourself during difficult circumstances, like trying to make it out of a swamp filled with poisonous snakes and no water or food for a week. That hat Lindsay is wearing should say "fake."

Tony Almeida was Lindsay Lohan’s bodyguard from 2002 to 2005, and he says that Lindsay’s parents are very much to blame for her wild ways. He says they let her do whatever she wanted from a very young age – including sex and drugs – as long as she kept working because her paychecks kept them living in luxury. Page Six says:

Almeida says, "From a young age, she dealt with her father’s physical, emotional and drug abuses as well as her mother’s drinking."

Once, when Lindsay was 16, Michael flew into a rage while driving and "slammed on the brakes and dragged her out of the car, pushed her up against the hood, screamed at her and called her a slut. This was on the Long Island Expressway! I got in the middle of it and pulled him off."

Meanwhile, Dina often "let her do whatever she wanted, just to keep her happy and working . . . [At her 16th birthday party] Lindsay drank whatever she wanted – I saw her drinking beer and mixed drinks with my own eyes [without Dina’s intervention]."

As Lindsay’s manager, Dina – who was desperate to become a star herself – received 10 percent of her income. "Lindsay was the family cash cow – and she resented it," Almeida claims. "They counted on her to pay their bills . . . I saw Lindsay exhausted, begging her mother for some time off."

Young Lindsay’s parents looked the other way as she began a life of boozing, boys and drugs. When she was 15, they allowed her to share a room with her then-14-year-old boyfriend, Aaron Carter, at Loews in Miami Beach. Almeida relates, "They knew Lindsay was sleeping in Aaron’s room. But they seemed happy she had chosen somebody who could benefit her singing career."

By age 18, Lindsay had moved on to harder substances. Almeida recalls walking in on her and another celebrity in a closet at a club one night as they sniffed white powder.

The ex-bodyguard also claims Lindsay cried out for help for years by cutting herself and threatening suicide.

As if everyone didn’t already know all that. Well at least Tony will make a few bucks telling the same recycled story. What is new is the tough love from Michael Lohan when he called his daughter the slut she is. It’s true that Lindsay could have two pet rocks for parents, and they would give her better guidance, but now every teenager with an ounce of rebellion will want to have parent’s as cool and irresponsible as Lindsay’s. Good going Mr. Almeida.

Trivia: Tony Almeida was the name of Jack Bauer’s right-hand man for five seasons on “24.”

Defamer had an insider at the screening for Lindsay Lohan’s latest film, "I Know Who Killed Me." No word yet on whether her final answer was, "The black kid did it." Apparently, they weren’t even going to do the screening for obvious reasons, and some actually found it to be more a comedy than a psychological thriller.

Also, in the scene where Lindsay gets hit in the face with a shovel– a scene meant to be terrifying–the audience erupted into laughter. Another not-funny-but-funny moment: when Lilo’s stripper character who may or may not be suffering from a split personality is being questioned by cops, she refers to her mother as "a crackwhore, disgusting, pathetic"…ouch Dina! The line was received by riotous laughter.

If only Lilo’s character had a father who was gang raped in prison. The film would have been a shoo-in for comedy of the year!

Hi david this is ali lohan, i want everybody to know the truth out there. My mom is a single mom of four children she has always been there for us, she was my mother and father and still is. My father is telling all lies to people and saying he was such a great dad and was always there for us, my father was never there for us, My mom was always there souporting us. i think that the whole reason why my sister is upset with her self and not as cofident, is because of my dad not being around, and always staying out late and not coming home for days, he would come back home never himself, he was always was making excuses for his bad behavior . And would always blame my mother. He just wants everybody in the world knowing that he was a great dad. He wasnt that is all a lie. I just want my sister to stick throught this okay, and my mother and brothers and i are there for my sister 100% and have always been. I’ve wanted to say this for so long and get this out there and let everyone know that our family is like a normal family but of course we are put under a microscope because of lindsays fame, lindsay will be fine she is just going through a rough time right now but she will be fine. i know this for a fact. My sisters is just like a normal sister. her and I have so much in common. My mother and sister are huge insperations to me, they have made it through so much in there lives. Picking on people is my favorite thing to do and yet I’m somewhat at a loss for where to begin with this one. Am I too mean for making fun of a 13-year-old? Nahhh, she’s a Lohan. With all of the drugs and alcohol, they actually go by dog years, which means Ali is actually 91. What speaks to me most is not the fact that she doesn’t know how to spell, but rather that she didn’t take the time to press spell-check. As I’m typing this, the spell-check in our software is lighting up all the errors like a firecrotch on a clear night. Ali, you’re only ten freckles and an eight-ball away from your "insperational" older sister, so I do get the "so much in common part." Cheers!

Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s "parents," got into a war of words after their nasty divorce proceedings in court this morning, and TMZ was there to catch it all:

TMZ was there as Dina began divorce proceedings against ex-felon Michael in a Long Island courtroom just a few minutes ago. While Dina accused Michael of breaching their separation agreement by speaking out to the media, Michael alleged that Dina owes him money through the pact as well.

But afterwards, Dina’s "security guy," Ty Dux, made nasty allegations that Lindsay, Dina and the rest of the Lohan clan are "scared" of Michael, and that the family "didn’t sleep at night, even when he was in jail." Michael angrily laid into Dux, calling him a liar and accusing him of being "in cahoots" with Dina Lohan’s brother, Paul Sullivan, who, as Michael felt compelled to point out, was arrested on fraud charges connected to Sept. 11.

Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up. All we need is someone to come back from the dead and we’d have ourselves a daytime soap opera. Next stop aboard this train wreck is The Jerry Springer Show, but this might be more white trash than even he’d allow.

Hey Lindsay-we’d extend our stay in rehab too if this was what we had to look forward to in the "real world."
