Anne Curry and Meredith Vierra Fight on Today Show

Posted on June 5, 2008 at 8:32 am (PST)

Meredith Vierra mentioned this morning that Anne Curry’s mom got a makeover. It appears Vierra wasn’t supposed to say anything, or at least Curry didn’t appreciate the comment on live TV, so she gave Vierra a very firm nudge. Look at the expressions on their faces. Both looked very unhappy, and very uncomfortable. Looks like Vierra isn’t very popular on the Today Show. Maybe they could replace her with Katie Couric.

Note to Vierra, don’t talk about a coworker’s family on TV. That’s their business, not yours.

Meredith Viera is More Interested in Hair

Posted on April 21, 2008 at 8:34 am (PST)

Meredith Viera did one of those hard hitting interviews for the Today Show with polygamist cult members. As the consumate professional she is, Meredith asked what was on every woman’s mind, what’s with the hair? The woman in the middle plucked her unibrow for her appearance … seriously. Even polygamists like to look their best for TV.

Even $1 Million Won’t Thaw the Ice Between Paris Hilton and Today’s Matt Lauer

Posted on June 21, 2007 at 7:01 am (PST)

Today will pay Paris Hilton $1 million for the privilege of being the first TV outlet to broadcast her post-jail whining.

Not a surprising development, but still disheartening.

Paris Hilton will likely trot out of jail Monday, attend a big fat party thrown by her daddy in Vegas, and then hop on a private jet to get paid a fortune for talking to Meredith Vieira about how jail is so hard.

It’s a place where you get locked up in a cell smaller than Hilton’s walk-in closet and it’s COLD in there. So not "hot."

According to the New York Post, Hilton refused to be interviewed by Matt Lauer because he’s said "disparaging" things about her in the past.

Maybe she’s just still miffed about him dressing up like her for Halloween a couple years ago. It was great!

Meredith Vieira Asks Al Sharpton about Racial Double Standard

Meredith Vieira turned the tables on Rev. Al Sharpton this morning, blasting him for not doing enough to stop black rappers from using words like "ho" and "b**ch" in their lyrics while excoriating Don Imus for doing so.

Sharpton was on the "Today" show this morning to react to Imus’ firing by MSNBC, and the Rev. repeated his contention that Imus’ place on the "public" airwaves made him responsible, and ultimately culpable, for his "nappy-headed hos" remark. Vieira then challenged Sharpton, demanding to know why he didn’t hold hip-hop and rap artists more responsible for "spreading the message" of demeaning and abusive language, and accusing Sharpton of perpetuating a "double standard."

Sharpton explained that his organization, National Action Network, was working to get more rappers with "positive messages" onto the airwaves, but acknowledged that those rappers were not getting the same attention.

Each generation of youth have their own cultural language which is used by people throughout our society. Some, like Imus, use the same words as the youth without understanding the context, and so the meaning is not the same, and the reaction is different. Imus misused the words "nappy headed ho," and for this miscommunication he will lose his career.

Rappers know their language is negative, but because it fits the language of today’s youth they get a pass and keep selling CDs. The use of those words by rappers promotes violence, crime, and racial hatred. Despite this rappers are given a pass by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Crystal Meth is also popular among many youth. Should rappers by allowed to sell Crystal Meth? Of course not. It seems so obvious. What is equally obvious is that Sharpton and Jackson won’t criticize fellow blacks for doing the same thing as white men like Imus, and that is both an injustice, and a double standard. Don’t interpret this as defending Imus. The message is that hypocrites like Sharpton and Jackson that promote racial inequalities, and a double standard, promote racial hatred as much as rappers.

Both Sharpton and Jackson publicly convicted the Duke Lacrosse players of being guilty of raping a black stripper. The Lacrosse players have been declared INNOCENT. The stripper did have DNA of 5 men inside her vagina the night of the rape, but no DNA of any Lacrosse player was found. Right after the rape lie the stripper got pregnant, and has had the baby already. None of the DNA found in the stripper was from her boyfriend, and her boyfriend was not the father of the baby. Both Sharpton and Jackson need to apologize to these three white boys, and then Sharpton and Jackson should lose their jobs for racially lynching these boys despite the evidence proving their innocence. Sharpton and Jackson need to accept responsibility for their mistakes as well.

Meredith Vieira Falls Hard on ice with Will Ferrell

Posted on March 28, 2007 at 10:37 am (PST)

It wasn’t Will Ferrell’s fault Meredith Vieira fell and hit her head on the ice, but it sure looks like it hurt. OUCH! What can anyone expect from a graduate from The View? If it had been Rosie there would have been an earthquake that would have collapsed buildings, and the earth would be spinning on a new axis.
