I disagree with you, a child needing to know of their biological parents in any case is wrong. Had that parent been a harm to that child, why would it be neccessary to introduce that parent to that child if they would only cause harm. I agree what that the fact that the gay community are attacking everyone is wrong but to say that it’s wrong for chidlren to not know who their “real” parents are is ignorant. Your real parents are the people who love, nurture, raise and care for you. Your parents are the people who have always been there for you since day one. Bioligical or not, parents are more than an egg and a sperm.

If the child’s safety is an issue, then of course preventing contact with that parent is reasonable. Safety has not been mentioned as an issue in most cases, and certainly not with Tammy’s children, rather it has been an issue of parental rights, while ignoring a child’s birth right to know a parent under reasonable circumstances. I agree that a real parent is more than just biological. A child wonders why they are the way they are physically, and behaviorally, and knowing both parents helps them answer questions they have about themselves that leads to self awareness. It should be encouraged for a child to know both parents whenever reasonably possible. It’s not just about what the parents want, it’s what is best for the child. There are also medical problems that can be inherited, and a child should know both their parents’ medical history to better manage their own health. Deliberately preventing a child from knowing both parents, when it is reasonable, is simply wrong.
