What’s more fun than getting falling down wasted?  Having your friends sell pictures of you falling down wasted to the tabloids. McConaughey was in Dazed and Confused, and now you know why. Matthew McConaughey celebrated his independence from former girlfriend Penelope Cruz with a three-day bender in Costa Rica over the Fourth of July weekend. I can’t imagine Penelope partying like this, can you?

Obviously he didn’t want anyone to know because he’s seen here trying to shush another guest. At least he didn’t hassle anyone like the Hoff.

A few days later McConaughey was spotted biking with Jake Gyllenhaal, and Lance Armstrong, in Malibu.

People has released its Hottest Bachelors 2006 list, and naturally Nick Lachey made the list. The one guy that made the list, and just seems to swing the other way is Taylor Hicks. Remember his purple velvet jacket on American Idol? I think Taylor is on the wrong bachelor list. Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz have decided to spend time apart.

The couple “have decided to take time off as a couple. Due to busy work schedules and so much time apart, they mutually decided four weeks ago that separating was the best thing to do at this time,” according to a joint statement.

“They’re very good friends, but they haven’t been able to be together,” a source said, “Who knows what the future holds.”
