Robert Pattinson Answers Questions for Matt Lauer on Today

Unlike Ryan Seacrest, Matt Lauer was allowed to ask Robert Pattinson on The Today Show this morning if he is dating Twilight New Moon co-star Kristen Stewart, but Robert didn’t really answer the question.

The fact is we’ve seen them together a lot, but we don’t know for sure if they’re having a relationship, or if they are seen together as if they were a couple to promote Twilight New Moon, which opens at midnight tonight.

Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston pretended to be a couple to promote their movie The Break-Up, which did extremely well due to the public interest in what was perceived as an onscreen and off-screen relationship between Vince and Jennifer.

If we don’t see Pattinson and Stewart together after the Twilight series are finished, then we’ll know it was all to promote the movie.

Joe Biden Swine Flu Plane Warning

Joe Biden appeared on The Today Show where Matt Lauer interviewed Biden about the Swine Flu pandemic. Lauer asked what Biden would tell his family about Swine Flue precautions. Biden said in part:

"I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now …"

"… I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now. It’s not that it’s going to Mexico, it’s you’re in a confined aircraft when one person sneezes it goes all the way through the aircraft. That’s me. I would not be, at this point, if they had another way of transportation suggesting they ride the subway."

"… If you’re out in the middle of a field and someone sneezes that’s one thing. If you’re in a closed aircraft or a closed container or closed car or closed classroom it’s a different thing …"

I talked about the risk of flying with people who have the Swine Flu yesterday. Joe is completely correct. The Swine Flu, like other types of influenza, is spread through the air by coughing, sneezing, and even breathing, thus the reason for the masks. The World Health Organization tried to downplay Biden’s comments today, but Biden is 100% correct.

Eliot Spitzer on Today Show with Matt Lauer

Matt Lauer did his best to be respect to dirty former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer when he interviewed him on the Today Show this morning.

In his first interview since the scandal, Spitzer, 49, downplayed his involvement with the service, saying he used it "not frequently, not long." The disgraced politician, saying there were "no excuses possible" for his behavior, which he repeatedly called "egregious," also said that he is still frequently asked about important issues.

Even so, he said, "I’ve had flaws," and he has thought about them "deeply," he said, saying he has "tried to address these gremlins." He credits his "spectacular wife," Silda, and their three daughters "who are wonderful" for their understanding after they had to deal with "excruciating pain."

Amazingly, Spitzer was never prosecuted for his crimes, and he is not divorced. I give his wife credit for both lucky breaks.

Matt Lauer Returning to Work This week

Matt Lauer (51) had surgery to repair his separated shoulder today, following his bicycle accident, where he hit the brakes to avoid a deer, and went over the handle bars. Tip: Only use the back wheel brake.

Jim Bell told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show to give an update on Lauer’s condition:

"I’m hopeful if not Wednesday by Thursday or Friday at the latest, so our national nightmare will soon be over."

National nightmare? Uh, we like Lauer, but it’s not as though we can’t live without him.

Lauer could have opted to postpone surgery, to see if the injury would heal on its own. Bell continued:

"Matt said this was the right call, his doctors told him that. As you probably know, golf is very important to Matt. He didn’t want to face the prospect of swinging a golf club in pain for the rest of his days."

"So he had a little surgery and as anybody knows who’s ever been under the knife, it’s not a lot of fun."

Bell joked that the show’s staff was concerned Lauer might not "be able to get a tie on," but said the objective for the crew now is "frankly, we’re going to get that deer."

The deer seems to be some sort of phallic symbol that the crew are fixated on. If Lauer wanted the deer dead, he wouldn’t have put on his brakes. With his fixed shoulder Lauer will be able to golf, and dust bust, to his heart’s content.

Matt Lauer Injured in Bike Accident

Meredith Vieira told viewers this morning that Matt Lauer had been injured in a bicycle accident. While Matt was riding his bike when a deer jumped out in front of him. No word if Lauer and the deer collided. Vieira said:

"Matt’s banged up with a displaced shoulder, it popped out, so hopefully he’ll be on the mend soon."

"Matt thinks the deer was hired by the competition."

Vieira insisted:

"I hired the deer, but I said, ’Just graze him.’"

There’s probably an internal investigation to see if the deer was hired by Fox News.

Dan Rather calls Barack Obama Osama Bin laden

Dan Rather was on Morning Joe discussing Jesse Jackson using the N word, and saying he wanted to cut Obama’s nuts off, when he then referred to Barack Obama as Osama Bin laden, and no one said a word to correct him. It’s amazing how people say what they’re really thinking, without even realizing they said it.

Just 2 weeks ago, Matt Lauer made exactly the same mistake.

Lindsay Lohan Mugshot for DUI

Lindsay Lohan just turned herself in to be arrested and booked on Friday for a Beverly Hills DUI and reports that cocaine was found in her blood taken at the hospital after running her car into a tree. With all the money she just paid to bail herself out twice, she could have hired a secret service driver for a year. This second DUI they actually found the cocaine on Lohan, plus got her alcohol blood level. Nice work, now if only the courts can put her behind bars before she speeds through a school zone at 100 mph. Matt Lauer will probably interview the officer that got to physically search Lohan, so he can tells us if her boobs felt real or not.

The DUI Lohan was charged with a misdemeanor, but this time she is charged with a FELONY. Lohan is cancelling all public appearances including her Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight, and her movie premiere tomorrow.

Did anyone doubt that the alcohol monitoring bracelet was a scam?

Lohan was in rehab twice already. That was a lot of help. Money well spent.

Blake and Jordin Creating Sparks All Over Town

Sure, she may be more than a foot taller, eight years younger and, according to the American Idol results this year, a better singer, but that apparently hasn’t stopped Jordin Sparks from dating runner-up Blake Lewis. TMZ first broke the story that he may have beat-boxed his way into her heart, as they were spotted shopping together while holding hands at a Fry’s Electronics store near L.A. The Jordin Sparks Club posted a photo of the two kissing.

If that photo is any indication, they might just be yanking America’s chain. I’ve seen more chemistry between Matt Lauer and Al Roker.

Even $1 Million Won’t Thaw the Ice Between Paris Hilton and Today’s Matt Lauer

Today will pay Paris Hilton $1 million for the privilege of being the first TV outlet to broadcast her post-jail whining.

Not a surprising development, but still disheartening.

Paris Hilton will likely trot out of jail Monday, attend a big fat party thrown by her daddy in Vegas, and then hop on a private jet to get paid a fortune for talking to Meredith Vieira about how jail is so hard.

It’s a place where you get locked up in a cell smaller than Hilton’s walk-in closet and it’s COLD in there. So not "hot."

According to the New York Post, Hilton refused to be interviewed by Matt Lauer because he’s said "disparaging" things about her in the past.

Maybe she’s just still miffed about him dressing up like her for Halloween a couple years ago. It was great!
