El Cantante Trailer with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
The Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony movie El Cantante, based on a true story, actually looks good. Remember that junk called Gigli in 2003 that starred Lopez and Ben Affleck? I hope this movie is better, and the clip below looks okay. However, I would see it on DVD.
Marc Anthony plays a drug addict. He so looks like one. Lopez plays the controlling women. Wow, great casting.
Jennifer Lopez to Sue National Enquirer Over Heroin Story

Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are furious over a report that they were involved in a heroin scandal, and now the hopping mad couple is hopping the pond to seek revenge in court.
Both Jennifer and Marc are set to file several lawsuits against the National Enquirer in the United Kingdom, claiming that any link to a drug scandal is pure fiction. They’re hoping that celeb-friendly libel laws in the U.K. will result in harsher punishment than they might find stateside.
The March, 2007 article at the center of the controversy, printed in British and Irish editions of the Enquirer, accused both Lopez and Anthony of being "caught up in a heroin scandal." The Enquirer also printed a photo of Anthony standing with photographer Michael Star, who is facing heroin and child pornography charges in the United States.
Tweed told the AP this was untrue and that Anthony didn’t know Star even as an acquaintance. Anthony posed for the 2004 photograph, Tweed said, in keeping with his usual hospitality toward backstage concert fans.
There has been a growing trend in international libel suits brought by U.S.-based celebrities in European courts, where libel laws favor the celebrity, not the publication.
"The First Amendment restrictions in U.S. libel law make it virtually impossible for international celebrities or other high-profile individuals to sue successfully," Tweed said. "But with the advance of the Internet, and with U.S. publications now extending their distribution network into Europe, they must subject themselves to libel laws in these jurisdictions."
Paul Tweed, who specializes in bringing U.S.-based celebrities’ libel cases to British and Irish courts, told The Associated Press that actress-singer Lopez, 38, and singer Anthony, 37, were seeking "a six-figure settlement" from the Enquirer, based in Boca Raton, Fla., and its parent company, American Media Inc.
Tweed said the lawsuit would be filed Tuesday in a Belfast court, and in subsequent days in courts in Dublin, London and Paris.
Marc Anthony Avoids Tax Evasion Charges

Marc Anthony, husband of Jennifer Lopez, dodged a bullet today when as part of a plea agreement, he and two others agreed to pay a total of $2.5 million in back taxes. In exchange, Anthony, whose real name is Marco Antonio Muniz, will avoid criminal prosecution.
The charges stem from an investigation into three companies controlled by Anthony, Ari Enterprises, Ltd., Bolero Records, Ltd., and Marc Anthony Productions, Inc. According to the New York County District Attorney, Anthony and two others who worked for these companies "failed to file New York State and City corporate tax returns and pay their respective tax liabilities."
Anthony and his colleagues have agreed to pay the debt by May 31, 2007 or face additional penalties.
Joe Francis could learn a lesson here. I said it before and I’ll say it again. Joe should have settled with those underage girls quickly, but now he’s not only in Federal jail for contempt of court, but he’s also been indicted on tax evasion charges. Like I said before, his entire fortune could be on the line.
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Deny Split

Jennifer Lopez’s rep is strongly denying a story by British-import OK! magazine declaring that the singer has "called it quits†with her husband of nearly three years, Marc Anthony.
Lopez’s rep Leslie Sloane says that the report is "a disgusting story full of lies. We’re consulting lawyers."
In the article, the mag brands Anthony as a "controlling" man who spends his time "suffocating†his 37-year-old superstar wife.
"Marc is very machismo," the mag quotes a source as saying. "Marc won’t let her even do a photo shoot by herself. He is always there watching, waiting."
The article claims that, at a Golden Globes party, "Marc [dragged] Jennifer away after spotting her dancing with another man. He has also insisted that Jennifer sell her beloved Miami home and the Los Angeles house where they wed."
Despite the magazine’s insistence that the couple has split, Anthony (38) was by Lopez’s side at a record-signing in the Bronx last week.
According to the New York Daily News’ Rush & Molloy, they were also together yesterday in L.A. as Lopez rehearsed for tonight’s episode of American Idol, on which she is scheduled to sing "Que Hiciste."
A friend of the couple tells the Daily News that "they’re inseparable. I don’t get a whiff of trouble."
It’s tough to be famous and married.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Nearing a Split?

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are lovey-dovey in public, but insiders say they’ve hit a rough patch in their marriage. "There was a fight on New Year’s Eve," said a source who saw Lopez that night. Another spy said, "There was a fight after she performed at the Super Bowl, and when she had an album-listening party in Miami two months ago, there was an issue." According to this source, Lopez stood up and talked about her upcoming album and said, "This is my dream and Marc and I worked so hard on this album . . . Marc, would you like to say something?" – to which Anthony coldly said, "No," and looked away. One of the issues is that Lopez is said to be putting off pregnancy – he has four kids with two other women – and Anthony is very interested in Scientology. But a friend of both said, "They fight, sure, but everyone fights." A rep for Lopez said, "They’re fine."
It’s that hot latin blood. Fight fight fight, then makeup passionately. Oooh la la.
