My impression is that Madonna is just going for shock and awe to attract a crowd. Although Madonna may preach acceptance and inclusion, she does not practice what she preaches.

In the picture above, Madonna has just finished up at the gym. Looks like it was a rough workout by the gash near her ear. Madonna’s trainer Lee says she works out 4 hours a day doing Pilates and jumping rope. Madonna does 1200 jumps per day, 300 at a time, and if she messes up, she starts over. Madonna is one tough cookie, so if someone is going to knock her off, that person had better be in good shape. Here’s more:

Death threats from the Russian mafia have kept pop star Madonna confined to a hotel room during her concert tour.

The pop diva stayed locked in her Prague hotel room only venturing out to perform two sell out concerts this week following alleged assassination threats by Russian crime bosses.

According to reports in the Czech daily Blesk, Madonna cancelled her original plans to visit the historic town centre and go shopping and instead stayed locked in her room at the luxury Four Seasons hotel.

The newspaper reported that the Russian mafia have threatened to kill the singer and her two young children.

“She is unbelievably nervous and is worried about performing in Moscow. Because of that she wants to get home as soon as possible and doesn’t want to be away a minute more than is necessary,” a source told the newspaper.

The 48-year-old looked pale and anxious, and didn’t smile or wave at dozens of waiting fans as she stepped straight into a waiting car with darkened windows outside the hotel she was staying at during three-day visit to the Czech capital.

She is is to play in the Russian capital on Monday and Tuesday as part of her Confessions tour.

Amsterdam prosecutors said today a 63-year-old priest has confessed to phoning in a fake bomb threat to a Madonna concert in the Dutch capital city last week.

“He was hoping to stop her from performing her famous ’crucifixion’ act,” prosecution spokesman Robert Meulenbroek said, referring to a scene in the 48-year-old pop star’s latest show.

The man who designed the roof of a stadium where Madonna is to perform next week has warned the entire building could collapse during the show.

Nodar Kancheli, who designed the canopy roof of the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow where the pop star is playing on September 12, told the Ekho Moskvy radio station that tens of thousands of lives could be in danger if the show goes ahead.

He warned that the concert might be too loud for the building to withstand the vibrations.

He said: “The stadium could collapse if audio frequency resonates with the vibration frequency of the building. The sound waves could damage the structure.”

Kancheli’s past record also does not bode well for the American singer. He was the architect of the Transvaal Water Park in the Russian capital which collapsed in 2004, killing 28 people. He was found guilty of criminal negligence but this week was given an amnesty.

The Luzhniki Stadium can hold 84,745 people and is the biggest sports stadium in Russia. It was the main venue for the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Madonna has sparked outrage after she imported 1,000 pheasants from France – to be shot when the hunting season starts.

The queen of pop – who rents out 1,200 acre Ashcombe House, Wilts, to hunters – already has 31,000 chicks.

Shooters will pay £10,000 a day to blast game on her estate when the season begins on October 1.

But Madonna quit hunting after a bird she shot landed in front of her – still alive and covered in blood.

She said: “The bird really suffered. Blood gushed out of its mouth. I haven’t shot since.”

Animla Aid director Andre Tyler told The Sun: “Madonna should be campaigning against shooting, not promoting it.”

Organizers had to move the Madonna Moscow concert from a hilltop site overlooking the city to a Soviet-era stadium used in the 1980 Olympic Games because of crowd control fears. Police said they feared up to 250,000 people may try to get into the concert, Madonna’s first in Russia, which had space for only 35,000. They had wanted it switched to an airfield on the outskirts of Moscow. The concert had originally been set for September 11, but has been rescheduled for September 12.

Also in the news, reports said that Madonna would be meeting with Russian President Putin, however, Putin’s office said he is absolutely not meeting with Madonna. I take it he is not a fan.
