Saturday night at the Home Depot Center in nearby Carson, California David Beckham made his American soccer debut for Los Angeles Galaxy. Despite fears that an ankle injury would sideline him for his first game, Beckham did indeed play, about 13 minutes in the second half of the exhibition match against Chelsea. (Chelsea won, 1-0.)

The stadium was full of fans and many celebrities turned out including Victoria Beckham cheering for her husband in a box with their three children, as well as Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise and Tom Cruise’s mother Mary Lee Mapother, EvaLongoria, Olsen, Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy, Alicia Silverstone and rocker husband Chris Jarecki, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Drew Carey.

The sold-out stadium crowd erupted in cheers even when Beckham simply stood up from the bench and began stretching. And chants of "Beckham, Beckham" took over the stadium as he entered the game after the 77th minute.

At the press conference following the game Beckham said of his injury, "The ankle has swollen up slightly, but that was going to happen. We’ll see how it is tomorrow."

"It was a good performance from the team," he added. "We just lost one nil. My 15 minutes, it was nice to get out there. I haven’t trained all week. I hadn’t kicked a ball yet today. It was just nice to be out there with the lads and get this game over and done with. I enjoyed it."

Today the Beckhams will attend the "Welcome to L.A." party, hosted by the Cruises, and cohosts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles.

The hottest item at the game, besides David, were the Galaxy T-shirts. The one who stole the show was cute little Suri with her million and one facial expressions.

During one of her contractually controlled interviews, Victoria Beckham told the AP:

"There are people that are much more famous in L.A. than David and myself. We’re not out every night. We’re probably a lot more boring than people think."

Paris Hilton has been very busy avoiding working on any of the "good causes" she said she would be working on. Paris spent time sun tanning her crotch and doing her slut aerobics, and on her break time she stared at herself in your compact mirror. The picture below shows Paris spending time at a beach bar, drinking something that is covered up. I suspect she’s already drinking alcohol again. That Paris is a classy lady.

While she was away a used can of gourmet dog food fetched from Paris Hilton’s garbage was sold for $305 on Ebay. How much would her turd go for? Some people will buy anything.

Paris can no longer be called the hotel heiress. Hilton Hotels said late Tuesday that it agreed to be bought by The Blackstone Group, a private equity fund, for about $26 billion in cash.

Today Paris returned to Los Angeles, where she will be heading to her rented beach house for more hard work avoiding "good cause" projects.

Lindsay Lohan turned 21 yesterday, and she’s apparently celebrating by having her things moved out of her posh Los Angeles condo, so she can settle into a quieter place when she leaves rehab. The New York Daily News says:

… a West Coast spy reports that her belongings have quietly been moved out of her apartment at the Sierra Towers in L.A.

"The Sierra Towers is party central," says an insider. "Lindsay has made the decision not to be around that when she gets out."

Current and former residents of the glamorous address include Matthew Perry, Vincent Gallo, Cher, PJ Harvey, Evander Holyfield, Joan Collins, Peter Lawford, Fred Durst, Sidney Poitier, George Hamilton and David Geffen.

It’s not like Lindsay chose not to have the big Las Vegas booze filled birthday bash, she’s got legal worries. Lindsay’s lawyer, Blair Berk, is reportedly pissed that the cops released blood test results showing Lindsay had cocaine in her system, and her blood alcohol was twice the legal limit the night she crashed her car into a Beverly Hills tree. Lindsay knows she’s got to find a quieter place where she can hide out from the cops.

Lindsay did get a new iPhone for her birthday.

Lindsay will be arraigned for DUI on August 24.

Rebecca Gayheart was spotted topless with her husband, Eric Dane from Grey’s Anatomy, on a chartered yacht during their vacation in Porto Cervo. She used to be relatively attractive and a little famous, but now she looks like she’s been beat with the ugly stick. The pics below are NSFW.

On 13 June 2001, Gayheart struck and killed nine-year-old Jorge Cruz Jr. as he crossed a Los Angeles-area street. According to the police report, the child was walking home from school and crossed the street. While several cars stopped to let him go, Gayheart swerved around them and into a two-way left-turn lane, striking the boy. Her attorney, Steven Lerman, subsequently admitted Gayheart had been using a cell phone during impact.

Cruz died the next day at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital. His parents, Jorge Cruz and Silvia Martinez, filed a wrongful-death lawsuit on August 6 2001 against her. Gayheart eventually paid for Cruz’s hospital and funeral expenses in order to have the lawsuit dropped.[citation needed] On November 27 2001, she pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter. She was sentenced to three years probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine, and 750 hours of community service. She was also ordered to make a public-service announcement.

Later that year, she flipped a rental car into two parked cars with her father commenting that, "I’ve told my wife not to let her drive any more."
