Lionel Richie was at the ASCAP Pop Awards last night with Nicole Richie. He even pointed out how much nicer Nicole looks with bigger breasts. That healthy glow is really the light reflecting off those bigger breasts. Nicole’s mom Brenda Richie was also there, and she said three month old Harlow Kate Winter Madden already said her first word. Brenda said:

"The other day I was holding her, and Harlow said, ’Hi!’ I said, ’Nicole, did you hear that? Nicole said, ’I don’t think she knew what she was saying! Nicole talks to Harlow constantly, and she tries to answer back!"

Maybe Brenda didn’t hear the first word. It makes more sense that Harlow would say "mommy’s high."

Us Magazine has reported on the first installment of Nicole Richie’s interview with Diane Sawyer, and a pervasive theme was how shocked Nicole was to actually discover she was with child.

Nicole Richie was so surprised to discover that she was pregnant, it took five home pregnancy tests to convince her that she was having a baby.

“It took me — it really took me a long time to really — for it to sink in,” she says. “I actually didn’t even really believe it until I heard the heartbeat.”

What she didn’t say is that it took her five times to actually pee straight enough to get it on the stick. 

The couple, who have already started a VIDEO diary for their unborn baby, tell Sawyer they don’t want to know whether the child is a boy or a girl.

The rest of us just want to know if it’s going to be human.  For some reason, I can’t stop picturing it coming out as a six pack and a bottle of pills. 

Dad, Lionel Richie, also sounds thrilled:

“He was really quiet,” according to Nicole, who says he told her: “Now you’re going to get to experience everything that I have and everything that you’ve done to me, it’s definitely going to come back to you.”

He’s not exactly dancing on the ceiling over being a grandpa.  He’ll probably insist on being called some weird name, like G-Money…or Lionel.

With regards to Nicole Richie, the question of is she or isn’t she has apparently been answered, and the answer is SHE IS! TMZ just broke the news:

The starlet has been dating Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden for over six months. Rumors have been swirling for months that Richie and Madden were expecting, but TMZ has confirmed through several sources that she is, in fact, with child. In Touch magazine is also reporting that the couple will wed this summer.

Won’t it be so darling to have Nicole and Lionel do the father/daughter dance to one of his songs? There isn’t a more fitting one than his classic "Easy."

Richie is currently facing DUI charges stemming from her arrest last December, when she was found driving the wrong way on a California highway. Richie’s trial is set for July 11. If convicted, she faces a minimum of five days in jail.

I wonder if the prison meal program accommodates those who are eating for two, although in Nicole’s case, she’s really only eating for 1.5 (She is the ".5"). If she really can’t handle it, she can string a bunch of baby booties together and escape.

Lionel Richie is saying "Hello" to a new lady love after falling for the charms of former Miss Nevada, Alicia Jacobs. Yes, another former Miss Nevada, but not Katie Rees who is best known for her raunchy photos that cost her the Miss Nevada crown.

The singer is reportedly madly in love with the TV presenter, who was Richie’s date for his New Year’s Eve concert and celebration at the Venetian resort in Sin City.

According to the National Enquirer, the couple met many years ago when Jacobs interviewed Richie for a local Las Vegas TV network. Both were married at the time.

Richie remained close to Jacobs and contacted her last year after learning she had, like him, divorced her partner.

Jacobs is refusing to reveal too much about her reported romance, but reveals, "Lionel’s a very special guy. He’s one of the most brilliant, kind and intelligent men I know, and he’s funny too."
