In Johannesburg, South Africa, Actor Leonardo DiCaprio suffered a minor leg
injury while filming in Mozambique, his publicist said Saturday.

The accident happened Friday on the set of "Blood Diamond," Ken Sunshine said in
a statement. He provided no details.

DiCaprio "received medical attention and was back at work" Saturday, Sunshine
said.

As a precaution, he was flown to the Nelspruit Medi-Clinic in neighboring South
Africa for X-rays, the Johannesburg-based newspaper The Citizen reported. He was
accompanied by a medic and bodyguards, the paper said.

Hospital officials were not immediately available to comment.

"Blood Diamond," a Warner Bros. Pictures action drama directed by Edward Zwick,
went into production in South Africa and Mozambique in February.

Set against the backdrop of Sierra Leone’s bloody civil war, it tells the story
of a South African mercenary, played by DiCaprio, and a local fisherman who join
forces to recover a rare pink diamond.

The film also stars Academy Award-winner Jennifer Connelly as an American
journalist and Djimon Hounsou as the Sierra Leonean fisherman (Solomon Vandy).

Leonardo DiCaprio refuses to be deterred by reports his girlfriend Bar Refaeli secretly got married in her native Israel to avoid military service. Israeli women aged between 18 and 20 are obliged to serve unless they’re orthodox, disabled or married.

But Refaeli, 20, reportedly avoided enlisting with the Israeli army by marrying an older man just a week before having to report for duty in 2004 – and then dumping him.

A pal of DiCaprio says, “He knows she is married but she is separated from her husband and planning to divorce him.

“She’s no gold-digger.”

He "sustained a minor leg injury on the set of the film Blood Diamond which
is currently filming in Mozambique. He received medical attention, and was
back at work today," the rep said in a statement on Saturday.

DiCaprio was flown to neighboring South Africa for medical treatment, a
hospital official told Reuters.

"He walked into the hospital grounds surrounded by bodyguards," said Robyn
Baard, spokeswoman for the Nelspruit Medi-Clinic, who added that the actor
consulted a doctor for about two hours and then left.

No information has been released about how DiCaprio was hurt.

The Blood Diamond, which also stars Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly, is due
for release later this year. The film, directed by Edward Zwick, is about
two men who find a rare gem that can change their lives.

This isn’t the first time Leonardo has gotten hurt badly enough to cause
concern. Leonardo was attacked with a bottle back in June of 2005 in Los

With Gisele Bündchen out of the picture since November, Leonardo DiCaprio has been quietly seeing another babelicious blonde – 20-year-old Israeli swimsuit model Bar Refaeli.

DiCaprio, who has been filming the drama The Blood Diamond in Africa for the past few months, met up with Refaeli in Paris for a romantic getaway last weekend. (The two had also rendezvoused there in January.)

The couple held hands while strolling along the Champs-Elysées, window-shopping along Avenue Montaigne and noshing at a Lebanese restaurant. Said one observer at the eatery: “They were very close to each other. They seemed to enjoy being together very much.”

DiCaprio’s rep had no comment.
