Leona Helmsley Heirs Get Money from Trouble

A judge in New York City overturned an order that gave the dog who outlived Leona Helmsley, Trouble, $12 million from her will. The judge reduced Trouble’s trust fund down to $2 million. Trustees of the Helmley’s estate argued that Trouble doesn’t need a full $12 million. Trouble is currently living in Florida with the general manager of the Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel.
Trouble’s dog sitter said the dog’s annual expenses are $190,000, which includes his $60,000 guardian fee, $100,000 for ’round-the-clock security, $8,000 for grooming, $3,000 for miscellaneous expenses, $1,200 for food and anywhere from $2,500 to $18,000 for medical care.
The judge also gave $6 million to each of Helmsley’s disinherited grandchildren, after accepting arguments that Leona Helmley was not mentally competent when she signed her will. She was nick named the "queen of mean," for good reason.
Leona Helmsley’s Dog Gets $12 Million

Leona Helmsley left $12 million dollars to her dog named trouble who once bit a housekeeper. I’d just like to mention that I’m a good companion, and I’ve been looking for a new dog to love. Wink wink. Anyway, Leona lived up to her nickname "Queen of Mean" when she left two of her grandchildren nothing, she said in her will "for reasons that are known to them." Yup, they know what they did. That’s cold. Time to put out a hit on a dog named Trouble.
