Lance Armstrong and Tory Burch Dating

  Share

Lance Armstrong is dating N.Y.C. fashion designer Tory Burch. The couple have been quietly dating for months, according to sources. "They are very much a couple," says R. Couri Hay, a friend of the designer’s.

Reps would not comment on the relationship. A friend says Armstrong contacted Burch after reading her profile in Vanity Fair. The friend adds Burch has visited Armstrong in Texas several times.

Most recently, the couple cozied up at Houston’s Hotel Derek on March 6, where they drank margaritas before heading off to a reception in Burch’s honor. Also in town at the time was Armstrong’s ex-fiancée Sheryl Crow, who bears a striking resemblance to Burch. The longtime couple called it quits in February 2006.

Another source says of Armstrong and Burch, "I can’t say whether it’s long-term, but they’re having a great time."

Lance Armstrong and Matthew McConaughey Deny Being Gay in Details

  Share

In the new issue of Details, Lance Armstrong and Matthew McConaughey, who found friendship in their newfound single-hood and similarly dewy torsos, stop jogging long enough to shoot down the gay rumors.

“We tried it. Wasn’t for us,” McConaughey jokes in the article about the gay rumors that have recently circulated about the two men. Then, turning serious, he adds: “I have a great friend in [Lance]. I’d do anything he asked me to, even though he’d probably never ask me to. And he feels the same way. It’s fun going out and living life and doing things at the drop of a hat. Livestrong just happens to be the most deliberate guy I’ve ever met.”

The November issue, which features Armstrong, 35, on the cover, is chock full of tawny goodness and albino pythons (clearly, channeling his inner Britney), as any Details shoot should be. It doesn’t hit newsstands until October 24, but Us has a preview of Armstrong’s interview.

On entering the NYC Marathon for fun:
“People actually think I’m racing to win. I’m like, ‘Seriously?’ Forget it.”

On being best pals with McConaughey:
“Our friendship just kind of developed. He got out of a relationship [with Penélope Cruz]; I’d just gotten out of a relationship. I think people see pictures and they think we’re these overgrown frat guys, but we all have those kinds of relationships – and RELATIONSHIP isn’t a bad word. I mean, we ALL have buds. We ALL take guy trips, but you take something very normal and you put it in a magazine, and people start talking. It’s like, you either sleep with anything that moves or you’re gay.”

On his ex, Sheryl Crow:
“We had a lot of love for each other, and I think we still do.”

On trying to raise money for cancer research:
“I asked the president for a billion dollars and I kind of expected to hear, ‘Sure!’ But instead I got a ‘Well, I’ll get back to you on that,’ and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, I don’t think you heard me.’”

On giving up professional cycling:
“I don’t miss it. I was afraid I’d miss the thrill. But I’m so sure that I don’t want to end up second or third that I was happy to walk away.”

On always being suspected of taking performance-enhancing drugs:
“There are people who, under this pressure, would crack, but the fact is, they’ve chased and chased and I’ve never gone away. They’ve caught everybody before me, they’ve caught everybody after me. They’ve chased me for years, and they got nothing. That’s a pretty big eff-you right there.”

On being retired:
“It’s nice to be able to take a leak and not worry about somebody busting in and wanting a sample.”
