The former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees was arrested this morning in Las Vegas for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Rees was pulled over shortly before 3:00 AM initially for speeding. According to Las Vegas police, when they attempted to arrest her, "she became physically aggressive towards the officer."

Officers said when Katie was stopped for speeding, it turned out she was also driving on a suspended license and had expired tags.

When the officer told her she could not drive away, police say Rees became violent, hitting and kicking the officer. Rees was arrested for the traffic violations, for resisting arrest, and assaulting an officer.

Former Miss Nevada Katie Rees isn’t done giving it up for the cameras, and this time she might be baring it all for Playboy. Page Six reports that Rees turned down "Girls Gone Wild’s" Joe Francis, who had offered her $25,000 (and $2 per video sold) to host a special and shoot a video. Now she’s in talks with Playboy to do a spread (though the mag’s people had no comment). Rees is definitely cashing in on her 15 minutes, the picture above is from a shoot for Las Vegas magazine Racket, and she also agreed to host a gig at the Hard Rock Hotel in Sin City for $10,000 for one night.

Rees was also hired to host the return of Beacher’s Madhouse at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Rees will co-host the opening night on March 31 alongside Pete Giovine and Jeff Beacher, recently named "Best Showman on the Strip" by Rolling Stone. "Miss Nevada is going to push the envelope, even for Beacher’s Madhouse," Beacher said. Does he realize she’s the former Miss Nevada? So what, exactly, will Rees’ hosting duties entail? According to Beacher, Rees will be hosting a female orgasm contest during the opening of the show. Next I expect to hear Rees has been booked on Howard Stern’s show to ride the sybian.

Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees is not getting her tiara back after losing it because of two sets of slutty pictures, and that’s final, pageant officials said Friday in response to speculation stirred up by pageant co-owner Donald Trump.

"The Miss Universe Organization has thoroughly considered the request of Ms. Katie Rees to be reinstated as Miss Nevada USA 2007," Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, said in a statement released to The Associated Press. "In light of the serious nature of the circumstances, there is no recourse but to stand by our decision."

Trump, who owns the Miss Universe Organization and Miss USA with NBC, told the television show "Extra" in a segment broadcast Thursday that he was looking at the Dec. 21 decision to fire Rees, fueling buzz that the beauty queen might be reinstated.

Rees was stripped of her title after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet. Some of the photos showed Rees, 22, kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Fla.

Rees’ lawyer had also asked that his client be given a second chance similar to the one recently given to Miss USA Tara Conner, who was caught drinking in New York bars when she was still underage.

Trump decided to allow Conner to remain Miss USA after she agreed to go into rehab and undergo drug testing.

Now let’s hope Katie Rees has learned the importance of taking responsibility for her actions rather than making excuses.

Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees asked for a second chance today, after being stripped of her title due to raunchy photos of her that surfaced on the internet.

"The photographs were from an isolated incident during my teenage years," Rees said during a press conference today. "This incident does not reflect who I am, or who I plan to be. I have no intention of further disgracing the state of Nevada, the Miss Universe organization, or Mr. Donald Trump."

Rees said she had contacted Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe organization, and is awaiting a response.

The former beauty queen also offered some advice to other young girls.

"Please don’t let your guard down when it comes to being photographed. As you can see, just one mistake can have a great consequence," she said.

Rees was stripped of her crown by the Miss Universe Organization after the racy pictures sparked a controversy. The pictures showed Rees in various graphic poses, including exposing one of her breasts, passionately kissing and touching other women, and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Florida.

Her attorney, Mario Torres of Tampa, Florida, asked that Trump grant Rees the same opportunity he gave Miss USA Tara Conner, who was allowed to keep her tiara despite tearfully admitting drinking as a minor at New York nightclubs. The Miss Universe Organization owns the Miss USA pageant and others.

"He always believes in second chances," Torres said of Trump. "We are asking for that and plead that he answer our call, allow us to meet with him and allow us to defend ourselves."

Trump has not yet commented publicly on Rees’ appeal.

A Miss Universe spokeswoman has said Paula M. Shugart, president of the organization, made the decision to strip Rees of her title and Trump supported it.

Torres said he had reached out to Trump and others in Miss Universe but had not heard back.

First runner-up Helen Salas will assume the title and compete at the 2007 Miss USA pageant on March 23 in Los Angeles.

Rees was crowned Miss Nevada in Las Vegas last October, and was to represent the state in the Miss USA pageant next spring.

The difference between Miss USA and Miss Nevada USA is that there were pictures of what Miss Nevada USA did, but there were no pictures of what Miss USA did, only allegations. Without pictures as proof, Miss USA was able to get a second chance. With all the raunchy pictures showing Miss Nevada USA’s acts, it’s impossible to allow her to have a second chance. Miss Nevada USA simply needs to learn the hardest lesson of all, accepting her dethroning as Miss Nevada USA, and accepting responsibility for her actions. Miss USA did accept responsibility for her actions by admitting her guilt, and going into rehab.

It’s a matter of judgment who gets a second chance. I agree with Miss USA getting a second chance, but I don’t agree with Miss Nevada USA (Rees) getting the same second chance with all those pictures as evidence. Another reason I don’t believe Rees should get a second chance is because she isn’t asking for a second chance, Rees hired an attorney who is telling Donald Trump to give her a second chance despite the evidence against her. In my opinion, Rees has a completely different character than Miss USA. If you have a different opinion let’s hear it.

In a statement, Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, said "Katie Rees has been relieved of her duties as Miss Nevada USA 2007. First Runner-up Helen Salas will assume the title and compete at the 2007 MISS USA Pageant on March 23 in Los Angeles."

Pageant spokeswoman Lark-Marie Anton said that that while Donald Trump approved Miss Nevada’s dethroning, it was Shugart who ultimately made the decision. "Mr. Trump runs a billion-dollar real estate company, besides owning the pageant," she said, "His priorities are the title holders — Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA." Anton added that these types of decisions are made all the time, they are just more high-profile now, in light of the current scandal involving Miss USA Tara Conner.

Rees is still listed as Miss Nevada on the pageant’s official website. Helen Salas was Miss Nevada Teen USA in 2004, and and a second runner-up at Miss Teen USA.

Katie Rees’ attorney said in a statement, “Katie Rees, former Miss Nevada USA, wants the public to know … she had a lapse in judgment … the actions on that evening in subject are in no way indicative of the person she is or the person she has become … she is a law-abiding citizen and talented adult. This was an isolated incident that occurred more than five years ago …” In my opinion Rees acted like a bisexual whore in these pictures, and she is talented … as an adult entertainer.
