Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Pete Doherty To Shack Up

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers recently split up with his girlfriend after his mother’s death, then she kicked him out of her apartment in Camden. Now there are reports that Jonathan may become roommates with Pete Doherty, and the pair are looking for a place in East London.

A source said, "Although Jonathan spends a lot of time filming in Los Angeles these days he still needs somewhere to stay while working in London. So when a mutual friend suggested he and Pete could get a flat together, Jonathan jumped at the chance."

Now that Jonathan is drinking again I guess it won’t matter if he shacks up with an addict like Pete. They’ll need to buy a refrigerator though to store all the beer for their cereal.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Drunk Charges Dropped

A Dublin court has dropped charges against Jonathan Rhys Meyers, related to his arrest in an airport on November 18. Meyers was arrested at Dublin airport for public drunkenness, and threatening and abusive behavior. He was released on $590 bail. According to the AP, Meyers’ lawyer told the court he "accepts his behaviour was unacceptable and out of character," and that Jonathan would make a voluntary donation to a charity.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Mom Died so He’s Drinking

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested just a few days ago (pictured above), and released on bail, after he became aggressive at a Dublin airport. Now we know the reason. Jonathan’s mother, Geri Meyers O’Keeffe (50) who was known to have been in poor health, died at 7 am at the Mercy Hospital in Cork soon after being admitted. Jonathan mother died only hours before he was got drunk and was arrested. Family and friends said they were stunned to learn of Geri’s passing. They said she had been sick earlier in the year, but had recovered. Jonathan is pictured with his mother below.

Just yesterday Jonathan cracked open a can of extra-strong cider in the street at 10 am yesterday while in London (pictured below). This is a very dangerous time for Jonathan since he just exited rehab in April, and now he’s drinking to cope with the loss of his mother.

A friend said, "She was extremely proud of Jonathan. She used to tell us she knew from the time he was born that he was destined for great things." Hopefully Jonathan’s friends and family will lend him the support he needs to get through this difficult time before he ends up back in rehab or worse. Make your mother proud, put the drink down, and walk with your head high like Kanye West.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers Arrested

Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested and charged with public drunkenness and breach of the peace at Dublin Airport. Rhys Meyers (30) was arrested Sunday after police twice confronted him over his erratic, abusive behavior at an airport gate and at a desk of the British airline BMI, on which he was planning to fly to London. Police charged him with two counts of violating the Public Order Act, then permitted him to pay an undisclosed cash bail on condition he return to Dublin District Court on December 5 for his arraignment.

Rhys Meyers, who was admitted to a California alcoholism-treatment clinic in April 2007, and checked out the following month, was in Dublin to appear on "Tubridy Tonight," a Saturday night national talk show to promote his new film, "August Rush," costarring Robin Williams.

In an interview last year on the set of "The Tudors," Rhys Meyers said he felt restricted socializing in Ireland because of its hard-drinking pub culture.

"I gave up drinking a few years ago, and this is the first time I’ve spent time in my country trying not to drink," he told The Associated Press in October 2006.

"I would never drink again. It is hard to avoid. But listen, you do what you want to do. I don’t want to do that," he said. "I want my career, and you can’t really do that and be successful on the screen.

"I’m young. If I grow older, which I hope I do, there’s going to be an awful lot of time to sit in your 60s and 70s and 80s, lots of time for Southern Comfort and ice then," he said. "Now? I’ve got business to take care of."

Yes … and now Rhys Meyers needs to eat his words and take care of business. He’ll be back in rehab if he knows what’s good for him.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is Reading My Mind

Jonathan Rhys Meyers told Details magazine:

“You know why I stay out of the limelight? I always think there will be that time that people will find out that I’m crap at what I do. I think they will figure out I’m crap. Doesn’t everybody have that feeling?”

I don’t know how Meyers did it, but somehow he read my thoughts about him … word for word. Besides being psychic I hear he’s a real snake charmer too. If Meyers were to compare his acting skills to those of Scarlett Johansson, who gets paid to look good not act, then I’d have to say he’s right again.
