Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau continued to keep fans appraised of the goings-on with the sequel to Marvel’s 2008 blockbuster with a few Twitter posts today regarding the official kickoff of filming for the project. Favreau tweeted on Twitter early this morning:

“On my way to set. Not much sleep, as one could imagine. First day at camp. Very excited.”

Favreau also posted a snapshot of a sign directing people to the set, along with a “No Cameras On Set Without Authorization Of Marvel Studios.”

Iron Man 2 is scheduled to hit theaters May 7, 2010.

I can feel my heart beating a little faster when I think about having to wait an entire year to see this movie. Someone really needs to invent a time machine so I can do movie reviews at least a year ahead of time, so readers can spend their money wisely.

Ali Campoverdi, who is featured in Maxim wearing lingerie, and is a reality TV personality, is serving as an assistant to a Barack Obama chief of staff.

Let’s hope Ali isn’t as much of a suck up as Monica Lewinsky was.

Ali is also dating Obama’s speech writer Jon Favreau, who deleted his Facebook account so he won’t be tempted by hotties online.

The Break-Up’s Jon Favreau and his wife, Joya, welcomed their third child on Tuesday night, August 29th, a baby girl named Brighton Rose Favreau, the actor’s rep confirms to Us.

Favreau announced the birth on his MySpace page and writes that the baby is “doing great.” Brighton weighed in at 6 lbs 13 ounces, is 18.5 inches long, and was born at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where Joya also works as an attending physician. She joins older siblings Max, 5, and Madeleine, 3.

Coincidentally, Favreau’s daughter was born the same day that fellow Break-Up actor John Michael Higgins and his wife, actress Margaret Welsh, welcomed a baby boy, Walter Lloyd Higgins.

Favreau has been seen in such films as Wimbledon and Something’s Gotta Give, and had a recurring role on the series Friends. He also wrote and starred in Swingers with Vince Vaughn, and directed Will Ferrell in Elf.
