Synopsis: Armed men hijack a New York City subway train, holding the passengers hostage in return for a ransom, and turning an ordinary day’s work for dispatcher Walter Garbe into a face-off with the mastermind behind the crime.

The movie will hit theaters on June 12, 2009. With so many good upcoming movies, I will probably see this one on DVD, or not at all.

The FBI are now involved in an extortion plot aimed at getting John Travolta, and his wife, to pay $25 million dollars to avoid release of a picture of their dying son Jett Travolta, and possibly documents that could embarrass the family.

Tarino Lighbourne, who was the ambulance driver for Jett, was arrested, he pled not guilty, was denied bail, and was sent to jail.

Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, who was a member of the Bahamas Parliment, was arrested Thursday, she claimed she was innocent, but resigned from Parliament. Bridgewater is the person who contacted Travolta’s attorneys, and tried to negotiate the $25 million extortion deal. Bridgewater is an attorney. Another Parliament member is also being questioned. There have been a lot of crimes in the Bahamas that haven’t been handled very well. Hopefully this one is dealt with in the right way.

John Travolta, and his wife, were asked to pay a $1 million extortion ransom to prevent a picture, of their son Jett Travolta as he lay dying in the back of an ambulance, from being sold to someone other than the Travolta family. The picture was allegedly taken with a mobile phone possibly by one of the paramedics. So wrong!

The alleged blackmailers are thought to have made contact with Travola and his Florida based lawyers Michael Ossi and Howard Butler. The blackmailers said they would sell the picture to the highest bidder if they didn’t get their $1 million ransom.

A local politician from the Bahamas is also said to be involved.

This is so very wrong!

Right after the death of their son John Travolta and his Wife Kelly Preston are facing extortion threats. Police are investigating.

The Tribune, a Bahamas-based newspaper, reported Monday, without attribution, that police are questioning two people, "one believed to be a politician," in the investigation.

Attorneys Mike Ossi and Howard Butler, who represent Travolta, arrived in Jacksonville from the Bahamas on Monday and released a statement that read, in part:

"Regretably in a time of such terrible grief there are often a few individuals who attempt to make false claims in hopes of making millions of dollars. We will never let that happen."

The nature of the extortion demands have not been made public.

Ossi and Butler’s statement said that they have "the utmost confidence in the Bahamian police and government" as it looks into the reported extortion attempt.

We suspect the extortion demands are related to how Jett Travolta died. It’s hard to believe anyone would try to take advantage of a family grieving their son’s death. We hope those people are dealt with properly.

People and the Associated Press both say Jett Travolta died from a siezure disorder.

Glen Campbell, who is assistant director of the funeral home in the Bahamas handling the remains of John Travolta’s 16-year-old son, told the A.P. that the body is in "great condition" and shows no sign of head trauma, despite police officials who said the teen may have hit his head on a bathtub.

About 25% of all children who have autism also have seizures. The Travolta family have denied Jett had autism.

This is a trajedy.
