Anne Hathaway sings Stephen Sondheim’s What More Do I Need? (from Saturday Night) followed by a performance of the Opening Doors sequence from Merrily We Roll Along where Hathaway is joined by Eric McCormack (of Will & Grace fame), Alexander Gemignani (Sweeney Todd revival, Les Miserable revival), and Stephanie D’Abruzzo (of Avenue Q). Featuring original Broadway cast member Jason Alexander special appearance by Bernadette Peters.

Performed in honor of Stephen Sondheim’s 75th Birthday on July 8, 2005 at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles. A benefit concert for Children Will Listen, a program of the ASCAP Foundation.

Jason Alexander Gives Advice to Casey Aldridge

Jason Alexander is speaking out again, only this time he’s advising Casey Aldridge on the Spears family media machine. Page Six reports:

Britney Spears’ 55-hour husband, Jason Alexander, says that knocking up Jamie Lynn Spears was the best thing Casey Aldridge could have done for himself.

"First thing I thought when I heard about Jamie Lynn was at least that boy got her pregnant so they couldn’t tell him what to do like they did me," the Louisiana native said yesterday outside his Kentwood home.

"He’s got a little more leeway — more rope to pull with. All I had was a signed marriage license."

The 26-year-old Alexander said that the "Spears publicity machine" probably has Casey on lockdown like they did to him after he married Britney in a shotgun Vegas ceremony in 2004.

He wants the 18-year-old college drop-out to realize he doesn’t have to do what they say.

"I don’t think this boy Casey knows what he’s gotten into," he told Sunday’s New York Post.

"When our publicity hit, I was advised to let them handle everything and it’ll blow over.

"After Brit and I got married, there was never a time when… we had her family and my family in the same room to discuss what was going to happen.

"Looking back, I’d want to say to them, ’You’re not going to powerhouse me and play chess with my life,’" he said.

"The Spears family is not a bad family," he added. "They’re just big business and have advisers."

Casey, who has a job laying pipes for a Baton Rouge oil company, hasn’t spoken since the news broke about Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy announcement.

Marry Jamie Lynn Casey, and keep your nose out of trouble. Just wait until Jamie Lynn becomes Britney, then take your child and have a good life.
