Ivana Says Trump-Rosie Spat is for Publicity

Pictured above, Ivana Trump, Czech-born former fashion model and former wife of billionaire Donald Trump. Donald Trump’s ex-wife Ivana has weighed in on the feud between the billionaire developer and TV co-host Rosie O’Donnell, accusing them of milking their war of words for publicity value.

Ivana Trump, who is attending the Paris haute couture shows this week with her partner, Rossano Rubicondi, said she recently advised Trump and O’Donnell to make peace in her advice column for the National Enquirer and Globe tabloids.

"I was very diplomatic and at the end of the day, I said, `You know, guys, just take the high road, it is so ridiculous,’" she said on Wednesday.

She said the feud is just for show. Is Ivana speaking out at a time that no is feuding publicly to get publicity for herself?

"Donald and Rosie, they’re getting fantastic ratings, they’re getting publicity, they’re really using it as a marketing tool, not because they are enemies, and I understand that only too well."

The fight between Trump, 60, and the 44-year-old O’Donnell, moderator of ABC’s "The View," broke out last month after Trump announced that Miss USA Tara Conner would keep her title, which had been in jeopardy because of underage drinking. He owns the pageant.

O’Donnell said the twice-divorced real-estate mogul had no right to be "the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America." Trump fired back in various interviews, calling O’Donnell a "loser" and a "degenerate."

Trump, host of NBC’s "The Apprentice," said earlier this month that he was finished with the quarrel – before fanning its fires a little further.

"Not everybody has to be politically correct," he said. "I think that’s why this so-called feud took on a life of its own, because it wasn’t politically correct. In a way it’s wonderful that she doesn’t like me and I don’t like her. There’s nothing wrong with that."

Ivana Trump was escorted out of Barbara Davis’s Carousel of Hope ball in Beverly Hills Saturday night for being "severely intoxicated," according to two well-placed sources. Later, back at her hotel, Trump lapsed into a "comatose" state, frightening a friend into calling paramedics.

The episode came as no great surprise to pals of the former model, who sought treatment for her drinking earlier this year, friends say. In August, Page Six reported that an out-of-control Trump was thrown out of Monte Carlo nightclub Jimmy’s following a noisy row with her boyfriend, Rossano Rubicondi. More recently, she has taken to calling friends late at night and leaving rambling, incoherent voice-mails.

Donald Trump might be expected to take an interest in seeing his ex-wife overcome her issues: The Apprentice star is a teetotaler whose brother Fred died from alcoholism. But when mutual friends have suggested an intervention, Donald has demurred, insisting there’s no way to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.

A spokeswoman for Trump said she was traveling and couldn’t be reached for comment.

Ivana Trump has a two-hour reality show this weekend patterned after ‘The Apprentice.’

In the show, called ‘Ivana Young Man,’ Ivana picks six young hot men to compete for an eligible and wealthy bachelorette. In the end, Ivana decides, “Who is desired,” an echo of Donald’s signature “You’re fired!” on the hit NBC reality show.
