Black basketball player Isaiah Rider was arrested for grand theft auto last night. Rider, who played the for the Timberwolves and the Lakers, was driving through skid row in L.A. at 2:30 this morning when he failed to stop at an intersection. The cops ran the plates and found the 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo was stolen, so the LAPD arrest Rider for grand theft auto. Rider was booked on $25,000 bail. Earlier this month Rider was arrested for narcotics possession and evading police.

In 2006, he was also busted for kidnapping. He pled guilty to lesser charges, including felony cocaine possession. He was sentenced to seven months in jail and was placed on three years probation.

When black athletes make it big, they need to leave behind their black home boys, and old way of life, and start setting an example, so that maybe the black experience in America can become more of a success story, rather than another excuse to blame the white man. It’s like a drug addict. Once they get clean they have to stop hanging around other drug addicts, or they just might start using again.
