Gillian Anderson and her newborn son Oscar

Gillian Anderson’s son Oscar is now nine weeks old, and spent two weeks in intensive care.

Apparently Gillian has sleeping around a bit since there is reported doubt over the identity of Oscar’s father. He was conceived in February, and Ms Anderson is said to have been living with her estranged husband, Julian Ozanne, until April.

Mr Ozanne is said to have asked for a paternity test. But Ms Anderson is adamant her new lover, wheel-clamp millionaire Mark Griffiths, is the father.

Not something to be proud of Gillian.

Gillian Anderson pregnant only months after leaving husband

  Share

X-Files star star Gillian Anderson is pregnant just three months after splitting from her husband.

The actress, 37, has told friends she is expecting a baby following her separation from documentary-maker Julian Ozanne, her second husband.

Friends said she made the announcement after passing the 12-week mark, when the chance of hitting problems in the pregnancy drops significantly.

Miss Anderson, who already has an 11-year-old daughter from her first marriage, split from Mr Ozanne in April, 16 months after their lavish Kenyan wedding in December 2004.

The pair had enjoyed a whirlwind romance and their wedding was held on the remote island of Lamu.

Miss Anderson is now reported to be dating wheelclamping firm director Mark Griffiths. The 34-year-old businessman, who operates his lucrative private clamping company from an industrial estate in North London, was previously linked with former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.

Last month Mr Griffiths, who used to live close to Miss Anderson’s marital home in Notting Hill, West London, moved into her new £3million home in nearby Holland Park.

The couple are also said to have enjoyed a holiday to California with Piper, Miss Anderson’s daughter by her first husband, Canadian television art director Clyde Klotz. The actress’s marriage to Mr Ozanne broke down shortly after The Mail on Sunday revealed she had a bizarre alcohol-fuelled outburst on a flight in January this year.

At the time fellow passengers told how Miss Anderson had aimed an extraordinary four-letter tirade at a fellow traveller on a flight from Sri Lanka to London.

One passenger said: “She was abrasive and aggressive and was slurring…the crew continued to serve her wine. She was not attractive, she reminded me of a 35-year-old spinster.”

Chicago-born Miss Anderson, who shot to international fame as Agent Dana Scully alongside David Duchovny’s Fox Mulder in the hit Nineties TV series X-Files, has had a colourful love life. Her marriage to Mr Klotz was as short-lived as her second. The actress left Mr Klotz in 1996 after two years, saying: “I’ve outgrown him. He bores me.”

Miss Anderson has had recent professional success, having been nominated both for a Bafta and an American Emmy for her portrayal of Lady Dedlock in the BBC’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s Bleak House.

Last year she starred alongside comedian Steve Coogan in the hit British film A Cock And Bull Story.

When The Mail on Sunday asked Mr Ozanne if his former wife was pregnant he declined to comment.

Asked the same question, a spokesman for the actress sent an e-mail stating: “It is not our policy to comment on a client’s private life. We know, however, that you would like to congratulate her on her Emmy nomination for Bleak House and great continued professional success.”
